      Hello there,
I’m reaching out as it seems that there was a issue of location during a run I completed this morning: around km 9.8, the GPS is locating me in Nigeria for a split second (instead of France), which is completely messing with all data from the run.

I’ve managed to open the fit file and find the point that is off. I’ve attached the .fit file and screenshot below of the issue (column 2 is latitude, changing from 48.5 to 5.3, and you can see column 6 (distance), changing from 9,883m to 4,818,890m (and then doubling).

      I was wondering:

      • what may have caused it and how to prevent it from happening in the future?
      • is there any way to remove the point from the fit file to reupload to the suunto app and other partners app (e.g., Strava / Training Peaks) to have clean data of the run?

Thanks in advance for your help,
      Thomas

There are different ways or tools to fix such issues.
For just one point, i have used FitSDK FITCSVtool to convert fit file into CSV then remove your bad point and convert it again into Fit. https://developer.garmin.com/fit/fitcsvtool/

You could search the forum for other tools to modify fit files online or offline.

@Mff73 @freeheeler Thanks both for your reply, and thanks for fixing the fit file / explaining how you did that! Really appreciate it.
