Always visible in BT search
-
I noticed that even if discovery is set to off, the watch is always visible in the BT device list
I guess I’ve already read this one somewhere but I can’t find it.

@sartoric and my Vertical’s ‘Find My Phone’ fails most of the time. Just a moment ago my phone was four meters away and could not connect.

@BrunoH
You should try to unpair an pair again -
@sartoric Really? All the syncing works perfectly, it’s just this findmyphone. Thanks, I’ll give it a try!

@sartoric discovery is for initial pairing and yes with it off watch is still in BT list.

@Brad_Olwin said in Always visible in BT search:
@sartoric discovery is for initial pairing
yep.
one detail I didn’t clarify, that is not obvious, is that the watch is visible in the BT search list of other devices, not the paired phone -
@sartoric this must be an Android issue, I am iOS.

@sartoric
i tried with my SV and android phone, and it is working as expected : SV not discovered when discovery on the watch is disabled. -
@Mff73
I don’t know … I even tried a soft reset. I should try with someone else phone -
@sartoric
i did check deeper, and i must admit that my SV (as the S9PP of my wife) is even not seen in 3 Android SAmsung phones BT list, IF NOT paired with SuuntoApp (with discovery on of course).
So i can’t even validate that it is visible with discovery offDid you restart the phone ? BT list may be caching data that will be wiped after a restart if you testing phone already have SA paired this watch.

@Mff73
The phone is the old, factory reset, A5 from my signatureThere’s not even Suunto App installed and I restarted it several times.
It’s kind of a mystery … maybe Some Android 7.0 Jedi trick
It can even ask the watch for pairing when it’s in airplane mode (that probably doesn’t deactivate BT)
