about deleting activites...
-
I just finished a 2h long cross country skiing session. After the workout I was super cold and wet, ended the workout and went to my car and started driving home. When I got home I noticed that the workout was not automatically uploaded to SA. After that I checked the log on my SV and the workout wasn’t there.
The only possibility is that when I ended the workout, on the final stats screen there is a possibility to delete the workout at the end of the list, it somehow confirmed that choice. Now I know that since my clothes and the watch itself were soaking wet, the touchscreen might have scrolled itself to the delete menu. I know I didn’t press any physical buttons for sure. I just checked and it is possible to confirm the deletion of a just finished workout with touchscreen button only, which in my opinion is a bit stupid.Improvement suggestions:
-
I bet there are no people on the face of the earth who would like to discard a long workout at the stat menu, so maybe have the user to choose if they want such an option to be available on long workouts. The only time I’ve wanted to delete a workout was that after a couple of minutes in to the workout, some accessort wasn’t working correctly (footpod, hr belt).
-
Since after winter activities especially clothes tend to be wet, maybe disable the touchscreen confirmation to delete an activity and make the confirmation to be with physical buttons only.
-
Add another layer of confirmation, so maybe ask once more if I want to delete my 2h long workout (I don’t)
Super pissed about this since the only reason I wear a watch is to dive into the stats, which I now do nor have…

@localful I can understand your disappointment. Your first two suggestions would take some time to implement and it’s up to Suunto if it’ll happen or not. The third suggestion is already there. An easier and faster suggestion that depends just on you would be to press the middle button just once more after you end the workout. This way the workout is irreversibly saved and nothing unexpected could happen!

@localful
this is only possible with custom battery mode and touch enabled.
touch is disabled by default. -
@freeheeler
unfortunately (depending on pov) the touch is enabled after you end the activity. -
@sartoric
is that so? I haven’t noticed that yet…
the cases I have used and tried were: off is off.
maybe we should collect the cases where this is not according to expectation and discuss whether it is a bug or not -
@freeheeler
I mean, after you select end, in the sensations screen.Could be useful to disable touch on delete screen, so you have to use the button
