Did anyone notice very different body resource values since the update in November?
I think this is when the FirstBeat algorithm was replaced, I’m less than convinced so far.
Example today, I started on 90-something percent - fair enough, I got a good night’s sleep and woke up at 08:15.
Then went for a 3-hour mountainous trail run (I do this maybe once a month at the moment), followed by a 4-hour meal and copious amounts of wine.

I figured that’d send my body resource value crashing down, given the physiological stresses piling up. By 23:30 my resource value was 65%, and not the 20% or lower than I’d expect.

My theory: the SV does not read HRV all day long (?), and therefore HRV is not used for the resource value.
So my boozy dinner was read as a sitting session with slightly elevated heart rate, which didn’t impact the resource value as much as I’d expect.

@mickywickyftw i see lots of Times before the uodate and eg you charge your watch then your body Ressourcen is after this in 50% or after a reboot from the watch. After the update all starts with 70% think Suunto only change the start point 🙄🙈 not more. So i had the same experience like you… Every night 99% 🤔 totally unreal. Specially when i compare the data with my whoop 🤗. Seems like suunto Plays with some Numbers. Or behind the scenes there is No “suunto inhouse Algorithm” 😂i dont know.

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you. #lifewithasthma #runwithasthma #nevergiveup #pushinglimits #adventurestartshere Suunto Ambit 3 Peak , D9, Vertical Ti, Race , RaceS Courtney, Race 2, Vertical 2, SA (Beta) Android Insta: @gipfelkind

@mickywickyftw “Resources” is just a made up number and for sure HRV is not involved in the calculation during the day. HRV is only measured (sampled?) during the night.

@mickywickyftw on my vertical my resources always are 99% in the morning no matter what I do and it is always goes down linear. My Hrv showed me low values for a couple of days after new years which I think is correct due to good food, stay up late and a beer or two. The same behaviour after heavy training days. The resources are exactly the same each day 99%. It needs some work. Would be interesting to know if the race behaves in the same way since what I understood it have different algorithms?

Having had the race for 1 month and recently a vertical, I find my vertical a little more reliable with regard to the resource score.
Example today: after a good night’s sleep (8:30 a.m.), an average HRV, I started my day with 95% at 7:30 a.m. (went to bed yesterday with 32%). I cycled 100km in 3h10 this morning and lost 35%. This afternoon, I sat in front of the TV to watch the Biathlon and I went for another 16km bike ride with my son.
Family meal and this evening the watch shows me 33% at 9 p.m. The application gives me the instructions: 6H30 active / 4:30 inactive 30 minutes Stressed

                Suggested recovery: 7:00 hours

With the race, last Sunday, I had almost the same day. Start of the day at 79% and end of the day at 40%

@Fizzgig Yes that sounds like your vertical is working much better. But do you get different values after sleep? I always get 99%. I did a soft reset one morning and it started at 70% and I think that day was more precise. But the next day and the days after it shows again 99% after sleep?

I have had the vertical on my wrist recently but the values are different at the moment. I’ll be watching this week.
