Alternative strap
-
JFYI: I was unhappy with the original strap, so I ordered this one:
https://lux-case.ch/22mm-bofink-r-luxus-nylon-armband-schwarz-grau.html?___store=chMore comfortable, makes the whole watch lighter IMO.
And, most important, since softer, it makes the OHR sensor better sit on my wrist, and therefore slightly better. -
Nice strap. I don’t like the silicon straps; I am not sure why all the sports watch manufacturers are so keen on supplying watches with Silicon straps!
I also changed to a nylon strap and find it much more comfortable and breaths better. Silicon also seems to cause a reaction on my skin when worn continually (sleep monitoring})
-
@Audaxjoe I bought a nylon strap based on a recommendation here in the forum but unfortunately had an allergic reaction to it. It was some cheap stuff from eBay. Would love to wear something else other than the silicone ones, but cannot find anything good
-
@tomasbartko for me the nylon strap from Coros fits well
-
@tomasbartko That is annoying for you. I used to have the fabric Suunto strap on my 9 Baro which was fine, but very expensive for what it is!
Have you tried leather; I know they will not last that long if getting wet a lot but if nylon also is causing an allergy?
-
@Audaxjoe I have an old 24mm leather strap from my old 9 Baro, but I never wore it actually. For sport activities it’s very uncomfortable.
@Eddy-De-Backer I was thinking about it, but I am not sure if I like the plastic part of the strap. I think Garmin’s straps are good, but quite expensive. So I am stuck with the silicone ones from Suunto for now.

@tomasbartko
I’m using (and abusing ) an elastic one from Etsy.
It’s starting to get worn now, after using it 24/7 for a year, but I’ve found it very comfortable especially during night. -

Thanks to the quick release system, I change straps depending on the use: in bad weather, I have the original silicone strap, for longer hikes, nylon (https://www.thewatchsteward.com/22mm-straps.html), and for nicer occasions, a leather strap (no-name chinese, similar to Suunto leather strap).

@sartoric I have given a try to Etsy but my package has been lost somewhere in France (shipping country was Latvia, delivery country should be Belgium). Will see with Etsy if they can send another package.
-
Mine arrived from Latvia in less than a week. Seems good quality and feels very comfortable in my wrist, but a loop like this must be changed to a traditional strap every time I want to attach my watch to my bike’s handlebar.
-
When mountain biking you notice the weight of the watch, especially on trails it gets shaken up quite a bit with the original strap. To achieve a tighter fit, I attached an old 24 mm Suunto Baro strap to the vertical. All you have to do is move the spring bars from the 22 mm into the 24 mm strap and everything fits perfectly.
-
I’m going to find a nylon strap because the Suunto straps that I have with my Vertical and the Race all irritate by skin where the buckle makes contact with the skin.
