Suunto Vertical NO VO2 Max
-
So i’ve been using suunto vertical since last month with no problem except for the fast draining of its battery. So I contacted suunto support and they told me to hard reset it and have it drained and charge to 100%. After that procedure i noticed that it no longer give me my vo2 max after my runs. So i contacted support again and they told me to hard reset it again and usr Basic Run inorder to establish my vo2 max. I followed their instructions but still no vo2 max on every runs. Anyone here experience this? Please help. Thank you.

@Pedros Do you have the latest SW? Vo2max should come after a couple of solid runs with HR
-
Suunto support gave me a detailed list of requirements:
- 15-20 min excercise, walk or run
- perfect GPS and perfect HR tracking. No gaps allowed
- minimum 8 minutes of zone 3 HR
-
@BrunoH they also gave me that requirements. Been doing 15-20 mins runs and walks for like 2 weeks now. I followed every instructions they gave.

@BrunoH thank you for this good information try this to got my vo2max

I didn’t think you could get a VO2 Max estimation from walking, or did that change with the last update?
-
@MiniForklift if I remember correctly, this was always the case. This was one of the reasons for me to disable OHR for hiking.

@Pedros As @BrunoH stated you need good HR. It is possible that the OHR is spiking or there are gaps. If so, the VO2M will not show. Have you tried an HR belt?
Yes i’m using HR belt for all of my runs

EDIT: That was a genuine question, not sure that it deserved a downvote
Grab my hand, I’ll pull you up!
I don’t know why, but the algorithm is enabled for walking. And it’s been like this in many old watch models. Some people are requesting it for cycling as well.
I used to get crappy V02max results with S9B for my hikes in the forest. IMHO the old Firstbeat algorithm used to be easiser to get the measurement. Now it’s been over a month already and I still haven’t seen my V02max in SV, but I gave up trying. We’ve been having -15C temperatures and I am not much of a runner…

I am out of suggestions! I would not reset the watch. If after a few more runs and not working. Send logs to Suunto and send me a PM, provide the date and time logs sent (time zone too please) and the email you use to log into the Suunto app. I will forward a report to Suunto on this.
