Suunto quality: WHAT IS GOING ON?

After three years of absolutely no problem with my Suunto 9 and having recommended it to many friends, it’s not working well this year. It stops with no reason, it gets into service mode (???), I have to wait until it runs out of battery to reset it, the GPS doesn’t work well, the watch stops in the middle of an activity after pausing it, etc. I can’t bear it. I sent my Suunto to fix it and they charged me 130€ and it’s get worse. I can’t understand how this is happening to suunto, really.
Three friends have got a suunto because of my recommendations. One had to return it, the other one hates it because the GPS has not worked once since she bought it and the other one has also many problems with the routes, GPS, battery…
I will never buy Suunto anymore, neither recommend it to anyone else, ever.

This looks like collective bad luck. And what model exactly did they buy?
