Software release 2.30.26

@Majkel-Paszeko yeah that makes sense. Thanks for explaining !
-
@far-blue Yes, I know the ânewâ industry process. In my company we are âfightingâ every day with our own developments (and bugs) and the third-party partners software and bugs.
Also our customers demand us to correct the issues as soon as possible.
Some issues are solved as soon as possible, some bugs are acknowledged and delayed due to âscript requirementsâ (or more commonly, priorities).
Itâs not easy to find the balanceâŚWhat we do is allow downgrading to a stable software version (or previous one) in case of a serious failure. I think Garmin also allows that.
-
@Maryn I would disagree. The problem with more features is more bugs. And Garmin is the feature king. Iâve got an Enduro - it was a great watch until Garmin pushed an update that broke the course guidance display. Five months later, and itâs still broken.
I think itâs important to pay attention that core features work. Of course everyone will disagree on what those are.
-
Let me add that not all development is the same. You cannot compare web development to embedded development nor android etc.
So while everyone speaks with experience it doesnât mean we have to argue all the time.
A button takes 2 seconds to style on html, 2 minutes on Android and perhaps 1 day on embedded.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos well said!
-
Am I the only one whose training numbers in the watch match SA? They have since day one of the update.
Maybe itâs a multiple watch issue? The Vertical is my first Suunto in a while, so there was no transition or swapping for me. Although I did import most of my activity history into SA and had to tweak some TSS numbers, but everything lines up for me now.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos i agree. This discussion should be uses to provide factual informations rather than personnal opinions to help suunto team to have usefull feedback and to correct/improve them in a next releaseâŚ
-
@duffman19 Maybe it is a case. Since vertical is yor first Suunto watch, SA calculates CTL etc. basing on same short term metrics as your watch.
But as I mentioned in my earlier post SA metrics should be always source of truth for all linked watches to pull when they sync. -

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Good evening, I think the map without squares will be solved once and for all, but I would like the names of cities and objects on the map, I like the clock itself after 9 baro
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I was just hoping to see a map without black squares in this update, itâs not a lack of clock right? So itâs a software problem right?
-
Anybody else that has this bug: when zooming out I can zoom max to 1,8 km and not 2,0 km

Itâs a mile for meâŚnot sure in KMs
I have also noticed now that when you hold the middle button to switch the âactionâ menu for the map, it is defaulting to the left/right actions (second option) vs the zoom in/out actions (first option).
This is a bit annoying for me. Never do I use the buttons to move the map around.
-
Just checked my map, seems much more logical! I like how you can use the up and down buttons to either move the map up/down or left/right, and now being able to use the buttons to zoom in and out but also still long press the top button to zoom out. A long press of the middle button allows you to toggle between three subsets which alters the functioning of the up and down buttons⌠clever
FWIW my zoom levels are:
25m
50m
100m
200m
500m
1km
2km -
Its a really good update! Love it so far. But found a bug that makes the heart rate not work during exercise. Shows 84 BPM for the first 10 min, and after that it start to work. Using Polar heart rate sensor( Worked perfect with Suunto 9 and Vertical before update)

And last but not least, I notice an increasing rejection of justified criticism here in the forum, which I absolutely donât like.
I do agree with you here, although itâs probably not just as black and white as you state. I feel like thereâs a number of factors at play:
- A considerable and fairly recent increase in criticism/complaints (which is often repeated and reposted across multiple threads). When you scroll through the recent and unread topics the majority of them now seem to be issues or problems
- A handful of the same posters continually complaining about every little thing that they deem as not being perfect
- Often the comments of criticism come over rather angrily⌠which is probably going to generate similar responses
- Users donât seem to be using the search function or simply just referring to the manual before they post
I probably think some of the negative responses have come from people that are starting to get tired of questions that have been answered across numerous threads numerous times, and even more so WHEN THE USER DOES NOT ASK POLITELY!
Letâs be thankful that Suunto hosts this forum for all of us and gives us a voice; I am all for justified criticism, I think it just needs to delivered in the respectful way that you would hope it to be answered
