Charging problem

My SV has charging problem showing on attached video.
I tried several chargers.
After several attempts to turn it on/off, it starts charging.Charging.mp4 -
@Piotr-Grygiel
try to rotate a little the charger base vs the watch (clockwise or the opposite)

it made the charge work one day when it failed like yours while downloading a map. -
@Piotr-Grygiel have you made sure the contacts are clean? From wearing there is always a slight film of grease on the watch. For me it helps to rub them clean before charging.
-
@Egika I’ve tried everything. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn’t
-
@Piotr-Grygiel two other things that caused me some charging issues in the past was to make sure the watch band isn’t causing the vertical to sit “up” on the charger. On a hard flat surface the buckle can drag and push the watch up slightly on the charger. The magnets are significantly weaker on this charger compared to the 9 Peak, and don’t mate as strongly.
For this reason, my charger sits on the carpet or a towel and I haven’t had any issues.Secondly, I had an issue with the WiFi in the beginning. Making sure it was turned off I got more stable charging until I got that issue sorted out.

it is perfect solution for an outdoor adventure companion (but fortunately, SV doesn’t need to be charged so often )

@Mff73 I guess outdoor, in the wild, grass instead of rocks
I agree, I’m quite pleased with the battery on the Vertical. Never thought I would complain how long it takes to run it completely down like suggested after a firmware update!
-
@Piotr-Grygiel I have issues as well sometimes. Try turning off sound and vibration during charging. One of my chargers is very sensitive and any movement interrupts charging.

My Suunto Race charging pad does not work well. The watch has difficulty sitting in the pad and charging. It has to be placed perfectly. The magnet seems weak. The slightest touch and it stops charging. I’ve tried cleaning the sensors and placing it on different surfaces. Still doesn’t work well.
-
@Rod-K same here
-
I don’t understand why Suunto can’t fix this. So many years have passed, so many new models, and the problem of the crappy cable is still the same. Are the testers of these new watches such blind fanboys that they don’t see this idiotic problem? There have been problems with these cables for years.
After all, manufacturing a cable and a connector is not rocket science nowadays.
-
@Rod-K 100% this.
Charging my Vertical takes ages (over 10 hours) because it stops charging at minimum movement. I try to leave them at the desk and don’t even touch the desk.
Such an incredible failed design.I can’t imagine re-charging the watch in an aid station during a long ultra event, as I’ve done with my S9B. I’m aware the the battery of my Vertical is more than enough but, nevertheless, there are races that might take more than 100hours non stop to complete (e.g. Tor des Geants has a 150hours cutoff).

if i do the watch flat on the charger have problem too so i put the charger a bit higher over a empty box then it works - maybe the watch strap is to strong curved and lifts a bit the watch
-
I find that if I put my watch (Vertical SS Solar) face down, with the charger on top of it, then charging works pretty flawlessly.
If I try with the watch on top of the charger, then it stops charging frustratingly regularly.
I’m not sure if that’ll work for other people, but it might be worth a try.

@GavinH I’ll try that! Never crossed my mind to try charging upside down
