What do you expect from the next update?

@Jugger watchface customization is not there yet (as far as I know), but more customization is being provided. An example is the shortcuts of the Race. I hope more customization will follow in next update.

@Tieutieu i try this at weekend, it’s work. Thanks!
A little more, after exercice, it also raise to wake up the backlight.
i just want wake up backlight during exercice only.
i have a suunto 9, before the last update, it work as what i said as i remember -
@zewen I think it is working the same (I also had a S9b during few years), but not sure.
But anyway, I don’t have any solution. I set it this way because I do want the watch to raise to wake when exercising and not exercising also.
Glad if it works for you at least during exercising ! -

First shut out to Suunto for the coming updates including
Multiple alarms
Find my phone
Shortcuts
I have not experienced any problem nor crashes on my Vertical.
So for me SV is near perfect.
But in the mindset of continuos improvement here are my suggestions :GPS broadcast to Suunto App Use Watch GPS and SA maps.
Multiple sensors pairing per sensor type
Resume later featuresJust my two cents
Resume later, yes pleeeeease

@stromdiddily @Egika @Brad_Olwin @BrunoH @altcmd Good morning dear community, the announced big update for the vertical in autumn is still a long time coming? Does anyone know when and when it will finally come? You often read here in the forum that it should come soon, but it is soon It’s been a long time since August. What interests me is: the recovery functions of 9P, 9PP, Vertical are currently based on calculations from firstbeat. Will these measurements also be changed with the new major update and replaced with Suunto’s own algorithms? or does only the appearance of the menu change and all calculations remain at firstbeat? is a not entirely unimportant question! Thanks for your answers and opinions.

@GiPFELKiND An exact date will not be given. That never happened in previous firmware release dates.
-
@GiPFELKiND if it was public information, everyone here would know it. I agree to the point that it’s frustrating to hear all the news from 3rd party reviewers instead of Suunto, but as Mandalorian puts it: “This is the way”.
BTW, there’s no use tagging me. I am an outsider; I just happened to drive past the factory two weeks ago. I didn’t hear any dates from open windows and didn’t climb to trees to spy on the employees

@GiPFELKiND SV, 9PP in house algo.
-
@GiPFELKiND there are clues in this forum that it will be soon

Maybe some nice-to-have feature for the future:
Automatic adjustment of the compass declination based on your location when the watch syncs with SA. -
More customizable analog watchfaces.
Without glasses at night a digital watchface is no use for me, whereas the only analog one works fine. During the day while equipped with glasses I would love to be able to change the complications other that simply being able to see altitude or battery.
Let me know Suunto if you want help with that. I am a software engeneer and “speak” a lot of programming languages. I am sure being able to help you out.
The existing analog watchface is good and nicely done. But at least I need more possibilities to change it.
Greetings KruziOwner of the first Ambit - Fenix 3HR - Fenix 5 Pro - Crossover Tactical solar - and since a month the Suunto Vertical Titanium
-
@Ja-Kruzinesen Same for me with regards to more customisable complications on the otherwise excellent analog watchface - it is also the only one I can read without glasses, which is a pre-requisite for ANY watch I buy now!

Coming from Garmin watches, what I think is missing the most :
- Being able to download new watch faces
- Being able to record swimming drills (without that, swimming activity is useless)
- Being able to pause an activity, for example, going for a full day hike, I would love to be able to choose “resume later”, during that time, the watch go back to idle and save up battery, instead of having gps still on while in activity pause
- Being able to change some settings during an activity (enabling/disabling auto lap …)
Even without that, I’m way more satisfied with Suunto Vertical than what I had with Garmin.
Also, I would love to be able to fully customize Battery Mode and create my custom, and being able to choose every setting independantly (Bluetooth, luminosity, GPS precision, vibration, maps …)

In an ideal world, the ability to connect to a Concept 2 Indoor Rower (PM5 onwards I think), as I could with the Coros, would be really good - it then directly gives you distance, stroke rate, stroke length etc.
@mrenaude Likewise - I am also very satisfied with my Vertical, however a few ‘little’ improvements / additions would be the ‘icing on the cake’!
-
@Swaddy61 Unfortunately, that would require ANT+ as I have a Concept 2 Ski Erg and it only works through ANT+ with my Garmin although it will receive HR via BLE via watch or HRM strap.
-
@seanvk I’m pretty sure the PM5 has ANT+ AND Bluetooth, at least according to my manual!
-
@Swaddy61 You are correct, the PM5 that comes on the ERG rower is both ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart compatible.
From their site
ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart wireless heart rate monitoring with compatible equipment
https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5And calling out Suunto Smart Sensor
https://www.concept2.com/service/heart-rate-equipmentThis would be awesome if we could get it to direct connect as I use the ERG App, use a chest strap and run indoor rowing to connect everything; then back sync to Suunto App once I am done rowing. Needing to look at both Apps to determine distance/stroke rate/HR/Calories. Having the data right at my wrist would be killer.
