New Suunto watch coming
-
Maybe for now major differences are display and battery. If additional software features are introduced later, maybe differentiation will be more clear.
-
@Stefan-Kersting Yes, made in china…
-
@Ketoohs it very aggressively priced. I wonder how much has been borrowed from the parent company or is there some internal competition between teams.
Its odd to undercut the vertical by quite so much.The home screen for example looks out of place on a Suunto watch. Not saying I dont like it but it doesn’t look ‘Suunto’.

reviews are popping up everywhere

I’m not disappointed : my SV is awesome and will improve. I don’t need amoled for now, and much prefer a longer battery time.
Few design differences also make me prefer the SV. Also for the “made in finland” !
Still, it is a big step forward for suunto, this watch looks good ! -
Oh boy, the Vertical’s titanium is much nicer, this looks awfully cheap to me. I’d prefer the titanium a little darker. It’s going to be a tough choice
-
Decided to make a small table for you, with HW differences
Just my look at this

I have both in full black steel casing here and both are actually quite the same quality appearance. Basically, they look like twins design and material wise.
-
@Egika I prefer titanium because of the weight, but the steel version is much nicer than titanium on the Race
-
@pavel-samokha I saw in Joaquin’s post in FB for Suunto Race these features:
-Race prediction for 5K-10k-half marathon and marathon
-Lactate threshold calculation
Will they be ported to Vertical through software update or are they relevant for Race only? -
@Tieutieu I fully agree
-
French reviewer “blog cardio gps” says that it will/should be possible to display heatmaps !
-
@dulko79 It will be very pitty if they’re not. Prediction not so much but the Lactate is a good metric (if correct).
-
@dulko79 Sorry, I don’t know if or when
-
@Ketoohs this! As an SV Steel owner of a few months, to know that I could have got a Titanium Race for less money is very disappointing
-
@elliott
Unfortunately, that’s how tech world is spinning nowadays -
The new always is the enemy of the existing.
Same everywhere and always.Took some pics to compare the built:
-
@Egika I’m more interested in the SV running new FW
-
@Egika display looks nice. Can you show screen with new sleeping tracking?
-
@Lechamoix I really hope it’s a mistake that there’s no sleep tracking and HR threshold tracking on SV!
