Hello, I really like the new Golf option for SuuntoPlus bur I find it not thougt-out well. When playing golf I find the biggest value in tracking the number of shots per hole, not overall as you always input the number to your scorecard after each hole.

With the current Suunto implementation I would have to always deduct the previous number to know my score on a hole. That’s really inconvinient. What do instead is I alway zero-out the score after each hole and start again from 0. That is really annoying too.

A simple inprovement would be to have two values. Total score as you have it now but also current hole score. With the top button you would add shots to the current hole score and the total would increase too. With a long press of the top button you would reset the hole to 0 and the total would stay. With a single press of the bottom button you would just deduct one shot from the current hole and the total.

There can be other solutions too, but the current implementation seem really not practical at all and I would really appreciate any way to easily track score per hole.

@Honza Yes, it could be useful as you say, but unfortunately I don’t think it’s feasible due to the limited action of the top button (prolonged pressure now decreases the score). It would also be nice to have the hole number and the corresponding number of shots at the end when saving the activity). You make me remember good times, I was a caddy and then a player from 6 to 20 years old 😉

@ultravox why do you think it would not be possible? There is a Tenis score SuuntoPlus where both top and bottom buttons are used to add an remove score from me or the oponent. So I’m quite sure both buttons could be used with golf too 🙂

@Honza I thought the bottom button was relegated only to laps, cool!

Thank you for the suggestion, we have updated the golf app. It now shows hole number, number of strokes for current hole and the total number of strokes.

Add or remove a stroke with top button, as before. Press bottom button to move to the next hole, this resets number of strokes for current hole to zero.
