What do you expect from the next update?
-
Map scale improvements. Max 500m is not enough…
-
@Sascha-Domres and an option to see the whole route. This is possible on the S9P by tapping the screen while you’re on the navgation screen.
-
- Elevation Profile Zoom (like on Coros)
- Ability to view next Waypoint notification on demand (instead of at previous waypoint and .05 miles before it)
-
@Frederick-Rochette When I buy a piece of equipment I usually try to find one that provides my needs as per specs, and I have learned not to expect much more with future updates (I don’t mind some new features coming, of course), so I lean toward bug fixes.
-
Bugfixes (e.g. non-disappearing map) and improved user interface (one that does not jump from touch to no-touch from menu to sub-menu)
-
Bug-fix: if vibration only is selected in the general settings / tones, then I expect no peep-alarms anaymore but only vibration
-
@heisss What exactly isn’t working as intended? The switch is named “vibration” and not “vibration only”. So to me this tells me that the tones and vibration settings are independent of eachother.
Disabling the tones and enabling vibration gives the desired result right?
-
@surfboomerang sure but a counterpoint is vibration for what? System wide all functions? Not exactly very clear what is the end outcome if you still need to go change the alarm setting, for instance.
-
After my run today on a new trail with very often looking on the map screen, I think it would be nice to see HR and pace also on the map screen. What do you think? An alternative option could be a automatic slide from screen to screen…
-
@SuperFlo75 great but prefer Voice Feedback
-
From the next update I expect half the crashes. Now it’s 2 times a week so I hope for at least one. Dear me what is this!?

Listen, it’s your own experience, it’s not representing other vertical watches - like vertical in the Amazon warehouse, they never had crash yet.

Btw, I contacted once Suunto support due to self reboot, and they ask me to perform a reboot.

I’m mostly happy with the Vertical, I would like to see:
HRV data and their replacement algorithms in place of FirstBeats for Resources (training load, recovery), Sleep
Nice to have:
Suggested workouts
Routable trails on map data
Support for multi-sensor pairing when of the same type.
Bigger Fonts / Text when following a structured workout describing the next targets/goals/stage of the workout.
Better notification handling (no more zombie, unable to clear notifications) -
One feature I would really like to see would be the ability to restore the watch as you had it last set. When it hard resets, it requires you to set up each structured workout over again which is tedious. It would be very useful to “push your last settings” to the watch instead of manually entering everything over again. I use 3 panel global views for each of the workouts with the top, center and bottom the same for each. Having to go into 7 different workouts and set this up every time is not fun.
I have had to do this about 6 times now that the watch crashed.
-
@Todd-Danielczyk oh boy how many times it was requested… Especially when “do a hard reset” is often times recommended as a last resort prior to sending back the watch to servicing.

I second that!
-
@Frederick-Rochette better cycling support. ClimbPro is one thing, but it is really irritating that you cannot pair with watch two dedicated sensors for speed and cadency. BTW it was possible in ambit2 watches. In current models including vertical you can either connect speed or cadency unless you are not use two in one sensor. Other thing is that it will be good to have few slots for each of this sensor types so I can pair sensor for few bikes, without a need to pairing each time I am choosing different bike.
-
Now the “what do I think the update will contain” became a “what would I like to get”
-
I would expect a better separation of VO2Max for non-running. It’s amazing how a week of hiking in the Canadian Rockies tanked Suunto’s VO2Max.
