Turned off while recording (again)

I recorded a walk with āHikingā and then paused after a while. When I wanted to continue recording, I noticed that the watch stopped recording. My cell phone informed me about a new recordingā¦ I am not aware that the recording is automatically saved and ended after a longer break. itās super annoying because I lost my starting point to find my way backā¦

@Sascha-Domres you LOST your STARTING POINT!? that is not acceptable!!! In an emergency Situation you have a Problem. Maps to find back!? š¤®Only a good option when it works! Seems not soā¦i have this Problem you write much timesā¦ Sent the watch back, get new one. Since that i dont have any issues

I am not aware of long pauses ending activities without manual user input. I wonder if itās possible to lock the buttons from the pause screen so as not to accidentally end the activity?
Will defer to @isazi or @Brad_Olwin to confirm though.

@stromdiddily the watch can currently only be locked during active exercise recording. When in pause, there is no button lockā¦

I received a new exchange watch from Suunto a week ago after sending in my first vertical due to multiple crashes (6 pieces since May) and 4 complete resets. Everything has been fine for a week until today. Just plugged in for the first time to charge, the watch just wanted to turn off, the screen is black. Took the watch off the charger (thought the watch is in standby mode, like when not moved). So take the watch from the charging cable and continue to black. Only pressing the top right button for 12 seconds starts the clock. WHAT IS LOS SUUNTO??? I could really cry. New watch, 1 week oldā¦ and now this again?
Will this be the next watch I have to send in for repairs a second time? -

but since @GiPFELKiND PM-ed me, I answered the question there and passed on the log data already.what I wonder: did you, @GiPFELKiND , setup the wifi and were downloading maps while charging?
I think this could be a helpful detail
