speculations and rumours about upcoming Suunto watches
-
@freeheeler Ouch! Lost seal?
-
@jjpaz
I don’t know for sure and I don’t recall the teardown pics I once saw, but I think the display is glued to the glass. maybe it remains water resistant? would be nice -
From the picture I was able to peek at, I understand that the new watch does not claim to be a replacement for my current s9p. I think the magic of the Suunto is gone in them, when you lack features for multisport, but you still buy the Suunto because it looks great.
I’m still hoping for better firmware for daily monitoring and more multisport capabilities. -
@STAS VARAZHBIT Hi. Im curious on your comment that the S9P ‘lacks features for multisport’. What is lacking? From my experience you can switch sport modes to anything you want, or you have triathlon mode etc. Sorry if Im missing something in your comment.

What happened to the spring buzz?
-
@dulko79 we drank it all
-
@Stas-Varazhbit everyone has their own preferences. Personally, I would never buy a watch which looks ugly in my opinion, no matter how many features it has. Yes, I wish Suunto had more polished daily metrics but these watches are good-looking and really shine once you’ve started an activity
Cheers.

@rooldaa Lol so you’ll spend $300-500 on a watch based only on how it looks. Okie dokey.

That was not the statement.
-
@TyreseJ4 there are watches that only give the time and are valuable thousands of dollars.
-
@Bulkan each to their own. Some prefer looks over substance, some substance over looks while some prefer a good balance. Hence we have diversity.
-
@mikekoski490 It’s generally one (or both) of these two things:
- Customizable Triathlon mode. Currently with Suunto watches you can either use the default triathlon mode, which means no choice on the values shown OR use manual multisport with customized individual legs, but then you lose transitions
- Specific Duathlon and Swimrun modes with transitions, similar to Triathlon
-
@TyreseJ4 you conclusion is not correct. If your read the last sentence of my message more carefully you will get it.
Cheers.
-
@Bulkan That’s true, but we buy them with that knowledge ahead of time. Also good quality is based on the type of watch (or other product) that you’re buying. For example, not all analog watches are equal depending on the manufacturer. But you already know that. However in this discussion we’re talking about GPS sports watches. But yes, to each his own. That’s why I said okey dokey.

@Joaquin This is not a sign of disrespect - people just want to know. Now half of them are pissed because they didn’t see
Ask them what they wear on their wrist and you will find that they respect your work. This community also adds its work. No offence.
Good day! -
@aroo7 agree, please everyone don’t be offended if your post got deleted, we try our best to serve the community without getting yelled on by Suunto

If you know, you shouldn’t do
-
@sartoric Well, I didn’t post any data and I don’t know the rules as they are changing on the fly. No hard feelings, we are all excited
-
@Likarnik
Rules are simpleSo the rule is: no leaks. No pictures, no names, no links, just discuss what you look for in a new watch, what you don’t want, what you expect.
