Need Purchase Advise [INDIA]
-
Hello everyone,
I have shifted base to INDIA during COVID and am finding it very difficult to make a purchase for Suunto. The website although works https://www.suunto.com/en-in/ however the prices compared to rest of the world are comparatively very high post conversion.
New Suunto 5 Peak is 35,000 INR ~ USD 430
I understand taxes(import and GST) takes a part however they still seems a lot comparated to other brands whom also import from other countries.Now the reason for the post:
-
I am fine to buy a refusbished model to offset the high cost, Suunto website even has mention of nice warranty and price is comparable on these refurbished units e.g https://www.suunto.com/en-in/Products/refurbished/suunto-9-peak/suunto-9-peak-moss-gray/ price is ~USD 416 however the buy now button and dealer button are inactive.
-
I tried calling offline dealers however they either do not pick the call or say they are not authorised to sell refurbished and it’s just written on website (There seems to be very limited distributers for Suunto)
Now INDIA smartwatch business has grown 177% YoY growth this year and is now the biggest smartwatch market in the world, I really like Suunto devices and want them to do good(competition is better for consumers) and I believe they can make a headway since the market is still nascent(apart from under $100 fitness trackers like amazfit and rebranded chinese counterparts)
If any one from Suunto is reading and can help me understand
- How to make a purchase for refurbished models?
- Why the offset price difference is so high compared to Garmin, Fitbit and Coros ?

@zhang965 Hello, thanks for replying.
Do check the link I have shared it shows refubished units are available (problem is no "Buy Now’ button and dealer is not responding to calls.
I will wait on someone from Suunto to help me understand this else will try and see if I can procure something from outside India by next year or maybe Garmin 255s is same rate here as Suunto 5 peak (atleast I will get good warranty then) -

@woot_pl
you can be assured that no one from Suunto sales will reply here. If you need direct assistance I recommend getting in touch with support by chat (if available). but I assume they can not help or change what’s been defined as sales
