Suunto 9 Peak Pro?

@Dušan-Ković I am very interested in readability. Did you notice it better than in S9P? I am wondering to sell mine and buy an S9PP but only if it is noticeable better. Faster UI or other things are less relevant for me.
Thanks,
JDid an activity today, and readability is very good with new font like a bold one.

@Dušan-Ković The strong magnet charger for the S9Peak can brick the 9Pro so don’t use it. The 9Pro won’t accept charging from that adaptor for the reasons @isazi described.
-
I like the slate very much. What a look!
Build quality superior. For me also better than S9P.
Glass perfectly set inside.
Charging pins on back better, litte bit deeper.
Top of housing (matte finish) looks way better than on S9P Ti.
Like the single piece back.
Very good job. Sports to be done on weekend. But I have to say vibration sound far from premium.
I tested a 945LTE this summer, which also has a very substantial vibration but not the accoustic buzz. Please SUUNTO do vibration profiles (low, mid, strong or just low, strong), choosable for activity and non-activity. It is too much when sitting on the couch or working or being in a meeting. I remember on S9P there were SW versions which had lower and stronger profiles. This should be choosable by user because of snare and buzz imo…
-
@Brad_Olwin I did not plan to use the S9P charger with S9PP. But that should be written in huge letters on the box

The Pro won’t work with the Peak charger and that should be enough to protect it. During early testing we had a charger with no magnets at all! I found it particularly frustrating to get the watch to charge.

@Brad_Olwin
And what about spare charger which is announced to be compatible for both models?
-
feel the same. See comment above. Hope Suunto will do something. Very good watch, gorgeous look and build quality! But this vibration snare I really do not like. Sounds cheep and annoys. Also people around. Strong vibrations should not buzz and snare in a 629€ watch. When it does, Suunto should do vibration profiles (low, mid, high or just low, high), choosable in activity and non-activity mode. Cannot be that nobody at Suunto thinks this way and did not recognize this.
-
@Mff73 this one works for both, the old one works only for the old one.
-
@mountainChris the vibration is software controlled, all testers complained the vibration of S9P and early S9PP was too weak, now it’s not.
-
@Efejota readability is better for sure .brigther screen , more colors/contrast, different fonts. I read it much easier. For me it was worth it to replace s9p with it
-
weak and strong does not have anything to do with snare and buzz (tested on a 945LTE). Felt very substantial and quiet. But if strong vibrations go with snare and buzz, it should be choosable.
Everything else: Very good watch, gorgeous look and build quality!

@isazi was there at least at some point a consideration to implement a linear vibration motor? If you or anyone else is allowed to comment on this.
I feel like such vibration is much more pleasant and is one of the small things that makes using a device an exceptional experience.
-
@isazi now it is annoyingly louder and not that much stronger. But i am not a tester. I am mortal.
-
@krakra exactly, more loud than strong. Far from premium vibration.
-
@krakra well, if you notice and notice more than the S9P, it’s working as intended, no
-
@mountainChris ya. I dont like it. Does not sound premium. I have a feeling watch is broken and because of that vibration is damaged in a way
-
@isazi you dont read what i am saying or maybe i do not know how to express my thoughts:). It is loud and not much stronger (my opinion, but i am not a tester). If i want loud on my wrist then tone/sound would be preferred. Sorry but the vibration feels cheap and prefer s9p more.

Comments about the vibration passed on to Suunto, just to let you know.
