Suunto 9 Peak Pro?

Diving abilities for snorkeling is controlled by the barometer? Will this be an option on older watches as well?
-
@Pavlas no, the new barometric sensor can work reliably until 10 meters under water without compromising its above the water performance, the old barometric sensors cannot.

that is quite interesting

Can we get real comparison pictures of the screens between Peak and Peak pro? Like in normal watchmode and trainingmode?
-
@gerasimos
lock in time mode isn’t really necessary as these buttons are much less prone to unwanted pressing.
it would be nice in general, when you come out of the water or have a rainy day and stop an activity though -

no fusedtrack anymore ?
i didn’t test it with S9P, so i may never see how it worked -
@Mff73 there is an endurance mode, so I would assume fusedtrack is still there.
-
I see reviewers are already talking about the Strava segments, I thought that was not announced yet 🧐
-
Do all battery modes use all gps systems?
-
@el2thek Yeap
-
How much time did the watch survive with sports activities and smartwatch features on a single charge?
-
@dulko79 this is a question reviewers cannot answer. We get 1, 2, even 3 firmware updates per week, and have to keep battery above 50% for the updates to work.

Why don’t they list Running power from wrist in the the specs and features of the watch if indeed that is a key feature being added? They also don’t list the snorkeling depth stuff very well in the specs. Is the navigation still the same as S9B and S9P? Have they updated the in-activity line graph screens to have an entire activity based x axis or is it still the sad last 5 mins time x axis we had on rest of S line? Fingers crossed they were able to make that change…

I am not sure. In reality if you would get the S9PP today you would not have snorkeling and running power because they are coming with the October firmware update (that new buyers will have already available when their watches arrive from the 25th).

It is similar, the only noticeable change is that you get arrows instead of text for turn-by-turn navigation (as often requested here). But navigation updates are on the drawing board, especially considering that the graphics capabilities of the S9PP are much higher than previous models.
-
@isazi uff I didnt know testing FW changes several times per week. 21 days for daily use is big. I was interested with different sport activities and daily use how much battery time you achieved.
-
@isazi better navigation might prompt me to consider s9pp or its successor at some point in the future (probably a year or two)!
My experience of S9 is constantly turning wrong on forks. Which becomes even more comical since my friends start to tell me that my behaviour is usually turn wrong a couple of time then look at the map on my phone. -
@isazi that is helpful thanks. do you know if they have increased the storage of the unit as compared to past units? Seems like if there is talk of live segments and other integrations…seems like the new app store is leaning into that quite a bit, that more storage might be helpful there. also like you said if the new processor unlocks better mapping capabilities that also would require a good amount of cached storage for map data…
-
@northeast_trekker I think storage and memory are increased, don’t have any specs available though. Live Strava segments are coming (now that reviewers mentioned them I can also talk about it) for previous (supported) models too. Next firmware update will make them work
-
@isazi that is cool news. thanks for answering. nice to see an app store is starting some nice feature adds that used to be beyond Suunto’s reach. will reap rewards for them and their user base.
