Suunto 9 lug question
-
I’m upgrading from Ambit3 to Suunto 9 baro. In Ambit3 the lugs are “integrated” in the watch case, the band is watch-specific, and it is attached to the case with bolts. On the other hand, S9 uses standard band, which is attached to the watch case with metal bars. I’m a bit worried about the durability of the S9 lugs, since I’ve seen other non-Suunto watches with broken lugs. Have there been any cases of broken S9 lugs?
On a side note, in web images I noticed that the S9 lug holes (where the bars ends are attached) have little metal inserts, which would prevent the metal bar to wear out the polycarbonate material of the case. This seems like a great design decision. Do you know if the lug itself is made entirely out of polycarbonate or some sort of metal frame reinforces it? Thanks in advance.

@Ivan-Vasilev Not sure but I’ve had an S9 since they came out and never had an issue with a lug. Lots of hours on the watch.

Forum users. Who knows why the lettering on the Suunto 9 Baro Titanium is different.
