Hello.
I have just ordered a suunto 9. I was just curious as to why it is sold with a hr belt when hr is taken from the wrist. If it is taken from the wrist why would I need a belt? Is it an accuracy issue?

belts can be more accurate in certain conditions. Also belts do not consume as much energy (more battery friendly). Also, some people have certain skin colors and features that make OHR less accurate

Thanks very much

@yannis-belouris or you have tattoo then you can forget about ohrm

@adamreah OHR does not work well for me. Walking or running downhill my HR maxes out. I use the belt most of the time. I also think the OHR will not work well for HR interval training.
