New software update for S9P-S9B-S9-S5P-S5 and S3 devices 2.20.28

@chris-conway Contact support. I don’t recall any of the testers having an issue. You could have a bad OHR module.

This update does not alter the way that the ‘training’ widget shows the training ‘plan’ for the week for S9 as far as I can tell after importing a test TP run to the watch. It shows up when you select the valid workout type and prompts if you would like to set this session but the training plan widget still just shows remaining to goal. It would be nice to have this as that would provide a more well rounded picture in graph form on the watch what was loaded into it for the week.
Agreed and has been asked for.

@wmichi intervals.icu works great for me (now) on iOS. Creating workouts and loading them to the app and the watch worked flawlessly and also - after workout - back to intervals.icu
-
Still no temperature measurement while swimming.

During intervals phase I could not see in which repetition I was. Maybe I missed to tick something in TP. Overall great addition and nicely implemented.
Quick workaround:
Name those repetitions in the workout builder with
Warm up
1/10
2/10
…
Cool downThese names will show up on the watch.

Can you create a structured workout with the Training Peak App? I see you can on the desktop site. Maybe I’m missing something?
-
@piotr-grygiel true. This release mainly for new features.
There is hope that the next will focus on bugs and small improvements. -
@tyresej4 yes. TP workout builder is only in their website version.
-
@egika Thanks for the hint.

@brad_olwin Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll contact them. I doubt its the OHR module though, its worked flawlessly since I purchased it, right up until the update. After further testing it seems to work fine now on my non-tattood wrist, so for sure the updated “wrist detection” is causing the device to no longer detect my wrist. Would be great if these kinds of additions are optional to toggle on or off…

My opinions on the TrainingPeaks integration:
- Alarms when out of the target zone are missing. This is a must.
- I miss a countdown 5s before the next segments start (beeping and vibrations)
- Why has the target heart rate a slightly larger font as the currently measured value? I think it should be the other way around: current value large, target value smaller (we already have the gauge as the primary indicator of the target)
- Planned workouts of activity type “XC Ski” should also be automatically suggested for roller skiing on the watch.
All in all Suunto Plus Guides seem to be a great addition to the Suunto platform, it’s a solid base for future developments. Thanks Suunto

interestingly, this time there was no “alarm” in SA that the new update (firmware) was available. I think that it was there the last time around. If not for this post, I would not know that the update was available. I might have missed it by a few days (:-).
-
@mdzott maybe it’s because the release is staged?
-
@dmytro i am downloading right now (literally)
-
@wmichi all your suggestions have been reported to Suunto by most testers. This is only the first version and it will improve.
-
Very cool so far! I assume along as you have the workouts created in TP set to “always available,”they’ll be ready for use even though you don’t have a premium membership on TP that allows you to schedule and R/S on the whim. I’ve already created several workouts in TP. Definitely a learning curve if you’ve never used the program. But it’s still cool!

Just a small improvement suggestion: make all workouts planned for a specific week sync directly to the watch, without the need of toggle. Toggle makes sense for routes and s+, but with 3-4 workouts a week select/deselect them manually is a bit cumbersome.
-
@dmytro for me it does exactly this:
-
@egika ah nice! So ‘always available’ toggle is for the exercises that are due this week?
