Future S9 firmware wishlist summary

@dmytro Yes, Brisk/Speed/Run walking ( however it is called ) it is consumed by lot of people and I for me it is logical to be part of separate sports mode than some feature
-
@djordje-s by run walk I mean the means to automatically mark the transition between walking and running. Similarly to how s+ sprint works. But I would be interested in a dedicated brisk walk activity too.

The Wahoo Elemnt Rival watch has seamless integration for triathlon, so you basically start the activity and then it identifies where you switch between swim/bike/run. It even records and identifies the transition sections which I thought was pretty cool. Aside from that feature it’s regarded as a fairly basic GPS watch, although obviously aimed at triathletes
Would be great if Suunto could develop something similar - I quite often do brick sessions for bike and run and would be nice to not have to worry about recording two separate workouts
-
@dmytro It would be good if Suunot integrate burner to be calculated automatically with every exercise Otherwise other S+ features will never be used till we have burner there :)))))
-
@djordje-s ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I used burner once or twice, I can only imagine using it during longer outings to remind myself to eat, since I tend to forget about it until I already feel unwell. For any other reason is burner in my opinion less useful. -
@miniforklift - doesn’t the S9 allow you to record multiple activities as one session - am pretty sure there is a hotkey that allows that - something like holding down the start button from what I remember.
-
@jamie-bg Hold upper right button

I wish I had this problem…

@jamie-bg How does Strava recognise the activity? Reason I ask is today I am biking out to the bottom of a hill, doing a run and then biking back. Would be good to record all as one activity - but wondering if Strava labels it as a singular activity? Never seen one that’s a combination before, or does it split them automatically?
-
@miniforklift Splits them automatically into each section.
-
@the_77 Thanks, I’ll try it out today and let you know
-
@miniforklift as @The_77 says Strava splits it automatically which in my opinion is shitty since you don’t have the global information. I mean, if I record a multi-sport activity is because I want it that way, if I want separated activities I will record them separated. I like how SA deals with multi-sport, you have the overall information and then you can analyze sport by sport.

I have to mention it again… my watch is going to DND, to start screen and to body resources without my doing

If this happens send logs immediately and PM me. I’ll report to Suunto.
-
@brad_olwin
logs wouldn’t help, but locks
it happens frequently when I wear gloves. Until now I only noticed the worst setting change was DND, which is bad enough IMO. Since changes happen that I did neither intend nor am aware of… it’s a small thing but really annoying in daily usage -
@freeheeler Maybe a smaller watch prevents accidental button presses?
-
@freeheeler So this happens when not exercising? Because, I typically lock the buttons when exercising. I know you have asked for this but don’t know if it will happen.
-
@brad_olwin
yes, I always lock during exercising… when I don’t, I don’t…
It happens frequently in wintertime…
…but I can’t imagine to sacrifice the size of the watch for the lack of a lock @surfboomerang … there must be another solution -
Would it be too difficult to have an option to disable Optical HR by default? I have not ever found optical HR to be that reliable that it could be used. Neither I do think it is that important for base training, RPE is more suitable.
Now it is a bit frustrating that every single time I do start training I do need to toggle Optical HR off. It should not be impossible somehow to be able to set Optical HR state per sports event. This would make sense because for example strenght training it does not make any sense.
