@cosme-costa Hi, could you tell me your config when you dont working out?

@lukas179 Today I got my new Suunto 9 Baro Granite Blue Titanium. Turned it on (37% battery), updated to latest firmware, charged to 70%, went 2 hours cross country skiing (gps on, notifications disabled, backlight off, connected to H10, battery mode performance). The battery was down to 50%. 10% per hour is a little bit too much and far away from the advertised battery life.
Maybe the battery needs calibration after the update?
I have same issue S9B. Updated new software and went to sleep 69% on battery -> battery died during night. Charged it to 100% at morning and 2,5h exercise immediately after charging and 69% on battery after that. Rest of day just watch mode so basically no use and seems that battery has died around 2.00am. So battery will survive less than one day. Very disaoppointed to this because watch is basically useless after this! Any advices how to fix this?
-
@jtahka my S9B needs 25 % of the battery for a bike ride over 2,5 hours (best gps mode). No idea how it was before the update. I got it 3 days ago and updated it before the first usage.
-
With earlier softwares the battery usage during exercise was less than with the new one but there is not that big downgrade than with watch mode usage. Battery going from ~70% to 0% in less than 12h in watch mode is far from normal.
-
@jtahka it is not normal indeed. Maybe you can try to reset your watch, and also contact support because battery should last close to a week, not 12 hours.

Have done resets, all kind. Not effecting. Have been monitoring the situation in every 30mins during the day. Conclusion is that battery drains 8% per hour in time mode. Not cool at all.
-
@jtahka I trust you, but this does not seem to be the norm. And with reset you mean hard reset with Suuntolink right? I suggest you to contact support and ask for advice. If you watch is under warranty they can even check it up for you.
-
@ierisch No notifications, no sleep tracking and no HR tracking (this is the main battery life killer for this watch). I use the same watchface that the S9P with white background (the one with the weekdays and exercises duration dots).
I have to say, that I am very happy with this update, I have the same battery drain than always during workouts and the best one in idle mode.
If your issues started after flashing the last firmware probably something went awry during the installation , so I would try a complete charge cycle, then a Suuntolink hard reset, then a re-flash of the firmware with the zip file and if none of the before work then I would contact support.
@pilleus I think your consumption is quite ok but in the high side , if I compare it with running time. But if you are in the first charge cycles and taking into account that the battery meter is not linear I would not be afraid.

@freeheeler if suunto ever introduces the lock button it wonβt be called lock button. It will be called the freeheeler button because of you honorable effort to get it
-
-
@freeheeler Maybe the left middle button on the concept watch from the latest survey is there just for you
It has no other purpose then to lock the watch -
@isazi does the new algorithm work just for predefined green workouts or for user defined settings too?
-
Bug or a feature?
I have noticed that my custom sports mode always defaults to custom battery mode. In the past, if I remember correctly, every sports mode would default to the last chosen battery setting. -
@dmytro No, it has always been this way. If custom differs from one of the standard profiles it would always default to custom.
-
@surfboomerang just for custom sport or for any?
-
@dmytro Just tried it for a standard sport mode. Same behavior
-
@surfboomerang alright, thanks. I thought it was different before.
-
On the other note: 3 days after I charged my watch and I still have 53% in my S9. Beforehand I charged every 3-4 days, now it seems I can do 5-6 days. Anyone else experiencing huge battery improvements?
-
@dmytro I do!
-
@dmytro
I do, too
