9 touch screen stops responding

Anyone else experiencing this? I logged it with support, ticket 01569617.
Watch: Suunto 9
Watch FW: 2.1.54
Issue: touch screen stops responding, Bluetooth appears to stop
Expected: touch screen does not stop responding, notifications from watch are not shown
Steps to repeat: try and use the touch screen (this hasn’t happened in a sport mode, but twice in watch mode)
Steps to work around: 12s press-and-hold top button resetRegarding the Bluetooth: I only noticed this as after I’ve rebooted the watch, a notification that appeared on my phone a few minutes earlier arrives as the watch starts up.

@ze-stuart I am having no such issues. Please note that having both MC and Suunto App on the phone with both watches connected caused these types of problems for me but not necessarily for all. Are you on iOS or Android? I am not familiar with Android but other than the two apps I have not had this happen.

Happened not with S9 (don’t have one ), but with SSS, newest firmware (after the first issue: no longer tracked ANY steps). A softreset “solved” the issue(s)(at least for now). I assume you have tried the softreset, too?

@shrek3k 12sec press on top button is soft reset which is mentioned by Stuart already

Can you find the root cause about this? I reported the issue anyways

@Brad_Olwin iOS (X, most recent FW as of last week), but specifically this is on the watch, not the phone, so I’m treating it as a watch-centric issue, regardless of what it’s paired too. It’s any touch screen functionality on the watch, ie on the face tapping to change the secondary data field after waking the watch up with a button press, swiping up or down.
On Saturday it triggered a storm alarm shortly before the touch screen stopped responding, which was odd because it was a lovely clear day, although that’s really just a correlating oddity, not causation of common component issues.

@ze-stuart I have reports about touch stopping also on normal Spartans. Actually 2 friends of mine had it. I ll come back to this

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos the official response…: do a soft reset, then, do a hard reset. I told them I’d do a hard reset if it happens again; I don’t like wiping out the cute graphs.

@ze-stuart I am so unblessed I lost my 2/2 key races. Mont Blanc with food poison and zagori race that I was aiming very high due to level 2 sprained ankle. To be honest I am entering deep depression so I don’t know what to expect from my self. At the moment I focus on work and beer.
