Software Update 2.30.32
-
@Stoke80 I saw a “stand-up” notification once on my S9PP. There was written something like “You didn’t walk for 2 hours”.
However, I also would say that probably most of us don’t see this notification because of bad step count algorithm in the watch, which can count you some steps when you just move your hand while sitting…
For example, I saw this notification pretty often on my old Huawei Watch Fit, where step counting works perfectly.

Hello, thanks.
Just one question: now oHR, during an activity, is always active even if disabled in the options. Am I missing anything?i didn’t check myself, but if correct, it is then same bug as in SV latest FW .
https://forum.suunto.com/post/132349A follow-up to this, just discovered after a short evening run. If you do not want HR monitoring during an activity, simply turn off the HR belt sensor as well.
This is what I found too - because if I do this, the heart icon isn’t shown on the pre-start screen and no value is shown in the HR data field after starting.
But I checked and the sensor is still turned on after starting the activity. No HR data is recorded but it’ll still use battery power (which is why I turn it off on long races). To stop it doing this, you also have to turn off 24/7 HR tracking in the general settings, otherwise it overrides the activity settings and keeps the sensor on.

@Egika just to let you know that it works correctly now! The problem is solved! Thank you! I recently switched from an (old) Polar and I can say I am in love with my S9PP!
-
Yes, that is a possibility.
But still I would like to see those messages again. Especially the weekly summary. And it doesn’ work since the update.
Before no problem at all.
Anyway, I am aware that this is not a major issue at all.

I’m also experiencing the “TSB data a day later” I first thought it wasn’t going to bother me, but yesterday my watch was telling me “ready to exercise, loosing fitness” while the app was screaming “OVERTRAINING HIGH RISK OF INJURY” since I just ran an ultra marathon…
Yeah, its annoying -

I hadn’t tried that so I just checked and you are right! I hope they will fix it

Hi, I’m new here and not sure where to post this. I recently bought a S9PP having previously had an S5.
I link to Training Peaks to get my TP Structured Workout as a Guide. In the past the Lap button created a lap but also advanced the structured workout. After my purchase, I configured my S9PP and updated the software to the latest version, but when tried to use my structured workout on Saturday and today pressing the Lap button creates a lap but does not advance the workout. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

@grantgrobbelaar Hi!
I don’t use TP, but create training program in the Suunto App and use it for swimming.
I tested it on my training session on Sunday and it worked fine - after pressing the lap button the watch gave me instructions for the next exercise. My S9PP also has newest update installed.

Hi all
personnally I like the new update, but it will take getting used to/.
On that note, where has the recovery countdown timer gone?? -
@Renzo-Karsdorp looks like the advent of HRV has changed this https://forum.suunto.com/post/129322

My partner is considering holding off on her S9PP update, knowing about the sporadic sleep tracking quirks the SV has been showing for some. Any signs of that yet with the S9PP?
Didn’t see it mentioned it yet, at least, so

@grantgrobbelaar Hi, same journey here, I started with S5 and now I’m a happy owner of a S9PP.
I don’t use TP but I create structured workouts on intervals.icu and both before and after this update I experienced the same issue: S9PP doesn’t move to the next lap when I press the lap button, as my S5 did. Probably this has already been reported somewhere, I’ll take a look and open a thread if needed -
@Francesco-Pagano There has been this issue when the structured workout has been planned for a specific day and you clicked on yes when prompted if you want to use the structured workout while accessing the sport mode. If you clicked on “No” and then chose the structured workout from the menu it worked. But I guess this could be a different issue.

@Francesco-Pagano
Thanks, I’m glad it’s not only me, please keep me updated. -
@Zdeněk-Hruška you are correct. this is the workaround to make this work correctly: Enable guide from activity settings and not from the question if it should be used.
Issue is known at Suunto.

@AnonVerticalOwner
Sleep tracking hasn’t changed for me since the update - it’s still very accurate with my sleep times.
But I also haven’t seen the mismatch in CTL/ATL values between the watch and the app - they match exactly for me.
I wouldn’t try to avoid the update, my watch is working perfectly other than a minor bug with wrist HR on/off in activities (see further up the thread). -

I noticed that they switched buttons when alarm beeps. Upper is now for snooze and lower for stop. Before it was opposite.
Ooof, this has screwed me up all week since the update! I’ll get used to it of course, but this is such an odd decision. I can’t really figure out what would’ve prompted the developers to swap the actions of these two buttons in this use case.
I’ve already “dismissed” my morning alarm instead of snoozing due to muscle memory (and not wanting to look at a bright watch face when I’m trying to sleep just a bit longer), which has resulted in me oversleeping each morning.

You can activate it through “customize” menu
Wait, are you saying that when you customize the widget menu and you use the on/off button next to each widget actually activates/deactivates the corresponding functionality?
I (incorrectly, it seems) thought this “customization” was just a way to customize the number of widgets I had to scroll through on the widgets screen!
Hopefully this explains why my sleep tracking, heart rate, recovery, etc data have all “disappeared.” Ugh.
Really wish the behavior had been actually customizing the list of widgets to scroll through on the watch. I’m not a power user, so didn’t want to have to scroll through so many widgets just to glance a few items now and then.
Glad I stumbled across this, though! Explains a lot of what’s been happening with my data!

@Zdeněk-Hruška thanks, this works for me. Not ideal, but at least I have a workaround now.
Thank you!

@Sam-White I think functionality stays, just widget isn’t showing
