Battery life and settings

Hi,
I recently purchased a Suunto 9 Peak Pro (it arrrived on 23rd Nov). I have a question on the battery life. The 9 Peak Pro has a stated battery life of 21 days in daily use with 24/7 tracking and mobile notifications. I fully charged it to 100% on the 23rd in the afternoon, and the battery is now at 53%, after almost 4 full days of use. So it’s using about 11% to 12% of battery a day, which would only be about 8 days of battery. This is well short of 21 days of normal use with 24/7 tracking and mobile notifications. The only thing I have enabled when I got the watch is sleep tracking (which is part of the 24/7 normal tracking as described on the website), I haven’t done any outdoor activities, so the GPS hasn’t been used, except to set the correct altitude. So I’m only getting about 8 days battery use. To me, this does not feel correct. Is there anything I can check or verify that the battery is Ok on my new watch? Or 8 days what people of getting with normal settings?
Also, I have a number of other questions on the battery settings. The Standby settings control on my watch is only a toggle button (on or off). I don’t have the 3 Standby options: Adaptive, Fixed and Off as described in the user manual. The Raise to wake control on my watch is High, Low or Off. I don’t have the 3 Raise to wake controls: On, Exercise only and Off again as described in the user manual. What does High and Low mean? Why do I not have the settings as described in the user manual? Is the user manual just out of date?

@sjryan-irl As for every piece of equipment with a battery, the first charge / discharge cycles are not representative of the actual performances, the software needs to calibrate to the battery behavior.
You should let the watch empty completely its battery (until it turns off) and then let it charge for a long time (keep it on the charger 1 hour after it reached 100%), then the battery % will be more reprentative of real lifeAbout your battery management, the SpO2 measurement during the night can have a significant impact, so, unless you need it, I suggest you disable it.
The manual is indeed a bit out of date, and it will be probably revamped once the new (big) update comes out in a few days.
For the standby setting (in the backlight submenu ?) i just discovered thjis setting, and i have no idea what it does, maybe someone else can help for that ?
For raise to wake, its indeed a bad description, but its the sensitivity of the watch to the “raise” , with the “low” you need to make a slightly exagerated movment to trigger it, for example, if you have you hands on you desk, with the low sensitivity it won’t wake the watcch if you just do a “wrist twist” , but that will work on high sensitivityCheers

@Elipsus Thanks for the reply. I’ll do your suggestion of letting the battery fully discharge before recharging the first time. Also thank you for the information on the sleep tracking and the raise to wake. I couldn’t figure out what the Low and High was for the Raise to wake but understand it now. Thanks, Stephen.

@sjryan-irl I’vve just bought a Peak Pro recently, and have found turning off SPO2 at nighttime has aided the battery life. Thank you @Elipsus for your response, I’m going to drain my watch and long-charge it after your good advice

I charged my S9PP on friday last week and today (after 4 days) I have 83% battery left. All options enabled for different measures and phone notifications, but only 30minutes of GPS tracking during this period.

Woaw, definitely not my experience! I get roughly 4 days of use with 1 hr of GPS tracking per day. As my watch is still newish (3 weeks) I 'll keep monitoring for a bit. -

29.12.2023 8.45 17 %I collected some statistics how battery level drops during the days with latest .38 firmware. GPS means that some that some activity was done during that day. This result is ok for me and here are the results if someone is interested to compare these. Well, it’s not in so readable format after copy paste, sorry about that

You are not alone here. It’s a bug after the last software update…
My battery completely drained in 12 days, during which there were only 7 GPS workouts, each about an hour long. The rest of the time, the watch was kept in a drawer with sensors and everything else turned off. Previously, under the same usage scenario, I used to charge the watch once every three weeks -
Hello, the same for me. I’m just waiting for battery to empty, then I will do the measurements like @Janne-Leppamaki did. Will post it here. I have bought it 9PP in July 2023. And yes, everything went worse installing 2.20.38.
