Adaptive Standby

My standby options are either “on” or “off”. I do not appear to have “adaptive”. But when I try and search for that, it seems that I should have the adaptive option? What am I missing??

adaptive is not an option, it’s automatic.
if you have stand by on you will have backlight when it’s dark and no backlight when it’s bright ambient. -

Thanks for the explanation.The confusing thing is that in the manual and everything else I have found about the watch indicates there are supposed to be three options:
Adaptive: The standby light is adaptive to its surrounding lighting conditions.
Fixed: The standby light is fixed to the brightness setting.
Off: The standby light is off.So appreciate the clarification!
