      Hi,

Is it possible to disable TSS, i.e. not automatically calculate a score after a workout?

@Vemee You can select manual TSS and then one may not be recorded. I have not tried this so not sure.

@Vemee You can set it manually to 0. This is not automatic tough. Just for my curiosity, can I kindly ask you why you want to disable it? This is the only metrics I care about when training and Suunto implementation is by far the best around.

@fluca Hi! Thanks for reply. Valid question. I am not saying that the metrics are not good, they are. However, I run 5-8 times a week, know my body very well, and for me the metric causes more stress than advantages. If I can’t run for a few days, I can’t stand the numbers going down. Also, sometimes I analyse the numbers too much, inserted of listening to my body.

So to summarise, for a normal human being the metrics are great, just not for me… 🙂 I love the watch and use it for keeping trac of milage, speed (during a workout), for pre-defined intervall sessions, navigations etc. etc. Just not for HR or TSS.

@Vemee I have experienced the same last year. At that time I had a Garmin. Training readiness and HRV status actually meant stress for me, whenever they looked bad. Which made them consequently even worse. I sold the Garmin and bought Suunto. I never had this problem again 🙂

@Vemee That’s very strange 🙂 TSS metrics are perhaps the best thing about the Suunto app! I love them.

@Vemee I have been very much in your situation for years especially when preparing for races. TSS turns from motivating me into another mental stressor. I am now 47, a very engaging job, two girl a wife and lots of people to love and things to take care about. I learned by experience how much stress my mind and body can handle before breaking down and start feeling toxic. So I made priority out of my life. I started training primarily to stay healthy and relax. When some of the other stressor reliefs for a time long enough, I engage in some racing without any placement expectations. Ententually shortening the distances.
This how I found a long term balance in my life and worked pretty well.
