Disappointing launch

@Plenuscausa
“for a long time” is relative IMO.
if you have set raise to wake correctly you can see the time, but you see the full watchface only if full wake is activated.
when DND is active the watch requires button press, which is by purpose and I guess a lot of people appreciate not being blinded by the display in DND mode.we can always collect suggestions here. in the end it’s a product management decision

There are some features that can be added in this software but no one has been doing it for a long time.
Come on, you can temporarily move the watch to your left hand while doing the pushups, or wear a Suunto Smart HR belt with built in memory which syncs your heart rate to SR when the activity is over.
It’s quite astonishing that no-one has done any new features to a watch that was released two weeks ago.
Such a disappointing launch. Get real!

@BrunoH
… despite that… when I’m doing pushups, I usually do them within a workout and then it is possible to lock the buttons -

I set the sleep time to 8-5:40 and the same way I set the do not disturb mode to 8-5:40. Now, in fact, the watch does not display anything, but when you press the button, the full dial lights up and hurts your eyes. I have “display only” enabled. Is there anything else I need to change? -
@Plenuscausa
assuming it is past 8pm in your timezone now, it works as intended.
DND 8pm - 5:40am, display remains off
outside of DND you should see the minimalist time only -

When buying Race, I wanted to be its user, not a tester. It is amazing that no one has thought about the lace, which can be disturbing in many cases. In my opinion, the crown should be excluded from the function of waking up the watch.

However, to do 50 push-ups, I do not need to record the exercise. When the screen is off, the crown should be inactive. In addition, there are many other situations in which the lace may turn into something you didn’t want. In many situations you may accidentally press it.
-
@Plenuscausa
don’t worry, the Race was tested for several months.
but it seems that the product’s design and functionality doesn’t match your expectations?
it is not faulty it works as designed -
@Plenuscausa I’m not sure what you mean by “normally” but my “normal” way of wearing the watch is two fingers from the wrist bone (which is the common recommendation).
There are no problems for me with push-ups and the crown when wearing it like this. This also gives more consistent OHR readings.

@Plenuscausa it might be, that you’re wearing it too near to your wrist? The manual states that you are supposed to wear it “two fingers” above the wrist bone. When I wear it this way, the back of my hand (and skin which “assembles” there) does not press the button:
-
@Mads-Hintz-Madsen It seems so, but to prevent it from sliding down to my wrist, I would have to fasten it abnormally tight.
-
@ChrisA
I understand, that’s how it should be. But you can see by your tan that you clearly prescribed it higher than your wrist. -
@Plenuscausa thats where I actually wear it What you see as tanned is from an apple watch I wore during summer a bit further “down” the arm, nearer to the wrist, since it was smaller. And since I have a lot of hair on my arms and legs I shave the hair in the area where I wear my watches, because it’s very inconvenient when you get your hair in the band, which makes the area look brighter too. For me wearing the watch during workouts (with pushups) works well, but of course peoples bodies are different. I think it would be good you could rotate the screen like on Coros watches, so you could wear it withe the crown towards the ellbow.

In the watch’s user guide, there is no how to wear the watch section, but in the optical heart rate section, it mentioned :
The watch may need to be higher on your arm than where watches are normally worn. The sensor reads blood flow through tissue. The more tissue it can read, the better.
The 2 fingers method is mentioned here, but it’s for our as well : https://www.suunto.com/en-gb/Content-pages/what-should-you-know-about-wrist-heart-rate2/
Welcome to Suunto community forum.

To be fair to @Plenuscausa …the way Coros has integrated their crown is pretty top notch and would address the described scenario. You can pick crown side which will flip the entire interface around depending on selection.

I don’t know how to make this launch even better - I received €70 voucher and ordered bicycle stuff and Suunto bottle for €7.5
-
After many twists and turns the Race Titanium arrived this morning. Now that’s out of the way we’ll get down to proper testing here in the US. Little like Christmas here today. Ordered the new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 on launch day and that sucker arrived 48 hours later.

Some time ago, the screen in Race turned off and stopped responding. The LEDs were lit. After a few minutes, it started showing the time again, but I noticed that the resources increased from 40 to 70 so suddenly, as if it started counting the parameter again. Is this some kind of condition? What could have happened?
-
@Plenuscausa
sounds weird.
can you send logs and pm me the details? (account mail, time, timezone and date logs sent, please)Race is a very stable watch, never ever had issues with it
