Disappointing launch

@Tieutieu I have to agree with you… maybe we have all fallen to the instant gratification needs… think back 10+ years… we wouldn’t even know it was coming… and now because we are not instantly gratified - in most cases reasons we don’t know it’s a failure.

Not that I am pro or anti Suunto , but other brands have similar issues . When the Garmin 965 was launched it was a pain to get hold of one, you had to wait one month or more.
I believe it’s the pressure that each brand has to launch products , to be the first.
The market is agressive, each day counts, and for sure shit happens.
Leaks of images , mistakes in production, last minute findings on production units that weren’t find on prototypes.
And for sure no brand will ever talk about it, why would they?
No one on these enterprises is dumb, or plan to do things “in a bad way”.
If Suunto could do it differently? Maybe…maybe not.
Honestly I didn’t found this launch very “wow” like it was with the s9p or the vertical, but the reviews were good and some good news seem to come along, so let’s hope Suunto catches this train. -
@André-Faria Regarding the 965 when I ordered it they clearly stated a 5-8 week delivery window which they met. Suunto’s challenge here is accepting orders and giving a 2-3 day shipping window (their disclaimer).

I’m happy because I got Titanium version this morning.
And particularly for me it wasn’t disappointing launch.
I ordered Steel and Titanium on Oct 17 on the Suunto website and got watches yesterday (Steel) and today (Titanium). Even faster than 9PP last year.I believe that all of us are big Suunto fans. Otherwise we wouldn’t order watches in first days or even hours. And it seems that disappointment comes from impatience not from high expectations. I would like to get new version 15 minutes after release. But I know and expect that they will be delivered in one week (may be bad comparison but my wife still waiting for new iphone).

@sashaklepikov Congrats - you are right next door so if it’s 7 days for you, makes sense it will be longer for others - did UPS deliver?
Would be curious about your thoughts on the weight between the two on the wrist.

@sir_max I can’t compare the weight because Steel version is a gift and I didn’t unbox it. When I have a chance to compare - I’ll write it here.
By the next door you mean Tallinn? Local market is too small. So previously DHL delivered all Suunto packages through Leipzig, Germany. Yes, Helsinki (Vantaa) is 80km away from Tallinn but they send it through Germany
And actually I have zero idea how fast it could be delivered to other areas.This time both packages were delivered by UPS. It was very fast. “Label created” in Helsinki afternoon and next day at 9:40am package is in my hands.

No info, but today I ordered Titanium one, as written above only one piece can be ordered.

When did Suunto start using UPS v DHL for US shipments? Randomly my UPS account flagged a shipment to my address from Suunto. Progress at least but interestingly no notification from Suunto. I am not a Suunto basher and from previous posts (not Race related ) hopefully that is evident. The customer experience is part of brand loyalty. Prior to giving Vertical a shot I was a loyal Garmin fan 15 years. Loved the Vertical but ultimately returned due to the lugs digging into the wrist. Early reports suggest design tweaks have solved that issue. If so, I‘LL be ecstatic and put those 7 Suunto Watch bands I bought for the vertical to great use. Hopefully Suunto realizes there are lots of folks hoping for their long-term success as we need competition from quality companies in this space. So, again, just increase communication to your customers and problems easily solved.

I’ve been using the steel version for a week and yesterday second time I ordered the titanium version - I’m waiting for delivery information. I hope that the delivery date will not change to May 2024 as before…

There has been a Suunto employee posting on FaceBook about that they are shipping but due to a software problem, not updating those user Emails in the same speed.

The situation with the Titanium version may be under control by now.
Yesterday I ordered one directly from Suunto.it (Italian version of the site) and today they delivered the package, that’s arriving tomorrow.

@colinmacdon I ordered mine 2 days ago directly from Suunto site (Titanium version) and got it today, 48 hours later. That’s my experience from Italy.

@colinmacdon Same boat and then mysteriously I received a notification in my UPS app that a shipment was coming to me. I’m in the US and not sure where you are but it might be worth a shot to check UPS site. I’ve checked the Global E site several times (used to be who we received updates from for Suunto) and that shows no updates since I ordered the watch. As a back up plan (not knowing Suunto actually shipped the first watch) I did order another Race from Amazon US which will arrive 10/28. I’d recommend US customers to order directly from Amazon. As of today prime members can have the Titanium by 10/28.
