Map source?

-
@altcmd it’s the same.
-
@altcmd the only change is that you use the crown to zoom, everything else is the same. Software on Race and Vertical is basically the same.
-
-
@altcmd with my SV and maps introduction, I almost doesn’t use turn by turn anymore. But I understand your point of view, as I find myself that by turn is not handled very well for now.
-
@Egika The choice of color for the trails could be better. Trails are rendered in not sufficiently dark green, which doesn’t seem to produce good contrast, especially when on light green background.

Why there are no detailed maps on the Race (street names etc.)?
I remember that Suunto 7 had much more detailed mapping and if I remember correct the source was the same. -
@JANTIKAINEN for Vertical and Race the map rendering has been built almost from scratch.
Noone here can answer why there are no street names. We can only guess.
It could well be coming and the state we have right now is a step on the way towards labels.
It could also be storage-related.
or it could be a strategic decision to not have labels for readability.What we know is, that there has been a survey to find out what users would like to be improved regarding the map display. So let’s wait and see what’s cooking.

One questione about maps: do you know if there’s the possibility to upload maps on watch directly from PC, just like it’s possible to do on Garmin watches?
-
@teo-s No. WiFi only.

@BrunoH Thanks for the reply! That’s not a great news after all, also because openstreetmaps are continuously updated, and we can just hope that Suunto will update them too sooner rather than later…
