I would like to see the activity counter for last 7 days from the app available as a complication on the watch.
Personally I find the rolling total more helpful/motivating than the weekly reset to zero.

        • quick release of new models with improved HR sensors for Vertical and Ocean.

Since like 2 updates HR is crap. I used Vertical, now Race for month+ and on both my HR drops so much from 160-170 to 50 HR (I have 60 when sleeping lol). Mostly of time using HR Chest Strap.

When’s the next release estimated to be? I’m guessing late June, early July, maybe?

I have notes I took before on this subject.

                  They are still valid.

The solar energy complication is only available on one or two watch faces. It needs to be improved.
                  More complication options

The variety of watch faces needs to be increased. There needs to be better graphics and interface visuals. As I always say, I should be able to access a lot of data the moment I raise my arm. And these should be real-time.

The weather forecast should be at least 3 days old. The need for a watch should be reduced as much as possible. We can camp in places without network reception.

The wind speed should be km/h in the weather.

He should not say good morning when he tosses and turns while sleeping. 🙂

He should give a warning when the pulse exceeds a certain value and suggest that we rest. (this is very important)
The refresh time of the complications on the main screen should be real-time.

I think it is already too late to suggest improvements for the next update. Whatever will be there is likely already at the final stages of testing.

But in general I am looking forward further improvements in such core features as offline maps, navigation, tracking of on-route waypoints, turn guidance, and elevation guidance. Every single of the above needs further improvements. I cold probably make a separate long post about each of these areas - what is lacking in each of these areas for me as a trail runner and how it can be improved.

My first priority would be to make trails more visible on the map when zooming out. In the current implementation trails become very thin, borderline invisible, at 0.5 km/mile zoom level and completely disappear at 1 km/mile zoom level. Suunto already has heatmap data. Perhaps Suunto could find a way to use that to determine which trails are more popular and should be prioritized on the map when the map is zoomed out.

Perhaps the second priority would be to make elevation data more accurate in the app when planning a route. When I plan routes in Suunto App, the total elevation gain is routinely up to 20% under of what is actually measured by the watch when I complete the route. That is especially bad on a rolling hills terrain, but even in big mountains with large climbs, elevation gain is almost always at least 10% less than actual. That also affects climb guidance for individual climbs because it is based on the same flawed low accuracy data.

Also, it would be really awesome to enable Suunto App to store maps offline and to allow making a new route and transfer to the watch while in activity in wilderness without having data on the phone. That would be a powerful feature that would, to a large degree, alleviate inability to route on the watch. It should already be possible to transfer new routes to the watch on the fly, but that currently requires having mobile data on the phone, which makes it much less useful for many of us.

                        1. I would expect to be able to select a track on the treadmill.

                        2. Improvements to interval and recovery notifications (interval number / to end, recovery number / to end).

                        3. Add an additional custom field to the map, e.g., heart rate.

                        4. Improve the resting HR algorithm for the optical sensor, because I think most people use a chest strap during activity.

                        5. As always, new features and improvements are welcome.

If not this update, then maybe the next update will strongly support swimmers and will include at least:

                          1. Improvement of the current swimming algorithm,
                          2. Algorithm for learning the swimming style as it was in SuuntoAmbit3PEAK,
                          3. Heart rate zones for swimming,
                          4. Algorithm for counting the length of swimming only on legs (without arms).

I wish there was - under the swimming pool sport option - an auto-lap of the actual laps you do (like in apple watch) whether based on the distance of the pool you select (I always di 18 meteres) or on autolap you set (but the minimum distance is 100 meteres). Like apple watcn does… this because the distance swam is correct but I dont get why I have to calulate myself the actual laps I do…

@giuliosq I’ve not done much swimming with my Suunto watch but my understanding is that it works the other way round. Without GPS the watch doesn’t have much of a handle on how far you’ve travelled so it uses detection of motions that suggest you’ve turned at the end of the lap along with the pre-set length of the pool to work out the distance you’ve travelled. The ‘auto-lap’ type behaviour for swimming is more an ‘auto-set’ where it groups lengths together that it thinks have the same stroke and where you’ve not stopped for a break.

@far-blue What the poster want’s is a really simple data point that a certain category of swimmers use. For each length the watch should count upwards: ‘Lap Nr 1’, 2, 3, 4, … xx. I’ve often heard these swimmers say for example “Today I’ll do 40 laps”, or respond to a query from another person with “I’ve got 10 laps left”. They do not use metres/yards as a measuring stick while actively performing the deed. Suunto could quite easily implement it (like so many other brands have done) but for some unfathomable reason they only give us the option to count a ‘lap’ with the minimal length of 100 metres…

No extra algorithm is needed. When a push-off for the next 25 or 50 metres is detected (or 18 m as in the poster’s case), tick the ‘Lap Nr’ up!

@Inge-Nallsson thanks both (even @far-blue ) thats my very simple point, as the watch perfecelty counts the 18 meters distance (perfectly) it means the movmenet sensor does its job, then why on earth the watch is not able to calclate the laps according to the swimming pool lenght I pre-set. it’d be easy by changing the auto lap distances accoringly to the pool length (which is “the pool lenght” already an option). it’s just a very simple thing. thanks both
