Indication for notifications

As an old Suunto 3 Ambit user it came as a big surprise that Suunto 9 Peak doesn’t show any indication for unread notifications after the notification view disappears in the basic watch mode.
In Suunto 3, the notification counter remains visible as long as there are unread notifications. I would expect the same here to override the user chosen value in the watch face with the notification counter when there are notifications. Or this could be a setting for the notifications, ”Show always unread notifications” etc.
This was very useful feature to check if you have missed any notifications. Now you need to swipe always right to achieve the same.

I got the Pace this week and was absolutely shocked to see the same thing…
How can a smartwatch not have an icon telling you you’ve got missed notifications???
