Suunto beats Garmin

Great article and plug for Suunto near the end of the story. Worth a read.

@Jeffrey-Tillack I am a non-native English speaker and I fail to understand this sentence:
“She (Chebet) had just finished syncing her Suunto 5’s results up to the cloud and had her victory confimed on Strava.”
Victory??? Chebet did came close to the old world record, now trashed by Tsegay, but Chebet didn’t win. Does this victory refer to Chebet’s personal best?
Also, is the point of this whole article that you don’t need the market leading watch to accomplish outstanding results? A smaller manufacturer can do the trick as well?

@BrunoH it didn’t count because it was not on Strava

I also looked at some images of Chebet. I don’t see her wearing anything but a bracelet with her name on it… Fake news?

No watch during the race. Here a link to the race, where both are in one picture together … https://assets.aws.worldathletics.org/6508108887023ba9db81bdf3.jpg
And here a video of the race … https://youtu.be/64LNuaOMp0c

@BrunoH This is satire and a joke about how people rely too much on the tech they wear and social media for their efforts to matter.
Here is a piece that makes some sense but maybe I shouldn’t post as a Fieldtester for Suunto:)
