How to add stepst to the display of a custom sport modes
-
Hello, I started configuring all my screens/displays of all my frequently used types of workout on my S9PP.
One of it is walking: Even though I can find all relevant data fields for my displays (speed, HR, etc.) I cannot find steps.
Is it really not possible to add the step counter to the displays of custom sport modes?
Thanks. Oli -
@blitzbayer No, steps is not one of the datafields that you can select. Steps are recorded though so in the summary they should be visible afterwards
-
@surfboomerang uh - that’s a shame as some people might want to keep an eye on their steps during workout (and not just afterwards). So that sounds like it would make sense to raise this as a suggestion!?
-
@blitzbayer of course this is a valid suggestion.
I guess more people focus on distance, speed etc, and not so much on number of steps taken.
Out of couriosity: how would you use this information? -
@Egika Sure. However, two examples:
- What if I set myself a steps-goal (e.g. next workout, I want to walk 15.000 steps).
- I recently was on a walking workout with my wife and had my workout running. Suddenly my wife was asking: I already have 10.000 steps. How many do you have? I could not answer the question as the workout display would not tell me the number of steps. Only at the end of the workout - when I completely stopped and saved the workout - I could answer the question, finally.
I know, this might sound silly for professional sportspeople like you. But as the steps are counted anyway, why not making them available as datafield for displays during workouts? That should be very simple to implement, I suppose.
Thanks.
