Using both the app and the watch to record a workout

Hello.
If the watch does not catch the GPS signal
can I record a track through the Suunto app and get the rest of the information about the current workout from my watch like in Suunto 3?
I don’t currently have any Suunto watch to check on my own.

@Aleksandr I would think that if my watch doesn’t catch GPS signal, my phone will also have some troubles.

You can record with both app and watch, but then you will need external tools to mix data altogether. And, it is not that easy and perfect.
