Is there stationary bike mode?
-
Hey. I had in my hands Suunto Peak 9 watch for a moment. Its cool watch but i haven’t seen stationary bike mode. Only normal one and few anothers. I tried them on stationary but it’s doubles calories and other things. I forgot about Suunto for few weeks, but now plan buy PRO model version.
So now i have two questions
- Does Pro works faster than normal Peak? I remember system was very sluggish. Its very important to me in sport watch. I remember scrolling watch to check something took years…
- Does Pro have stationary bike mode (I love to ride stationary, especially in winter) becouse where I live its hard sometimes on normal one. I heard theres option to create own sport type training. How that works? Could someone help? If I good remember on two watches i burned 350 +/- calories in hour, and on Suunto Peak 9 (normal) over 700 (on Cyclling or Indoor Cycling I believe)

not sure which thread I should answer because one will be locked for sure…if indoor cycling isn’t stationary enough for you you can create custom sport modes in Suunto App when you press on the watch icon top right and then select sport mode customization.
the pro has a faster UI than the peak

Thanks for reply, I don’t know how it doubled my thread :D.
I’ll give a try for Pro version. How sport mode customization works, could You share? -
@Tami999
you don’t have a Suunto yet?
I can briefly describe, but maybe you better watch some videos on YouTube
in sport customization you can select from several datafield arrangements or predefined screens and you can add datafields as you like (what numbers you want to see in one screen). the screens are limited to max 3 datascreens.just 2 sample screenshots… hope they give you an idea about customization

No, I don’t have Suunko. It was great but lag in menu made me angry. -
@Tami999
pro will be different, but of course it’s difficult for me to know your exact requirements.
I have enjoyed every Suunto I’ve had so far -

Right now I sometimes running and cycling. But in winter I want to use stationary bike. I also need durable watch and GPS seems useful for me. It will be my first sport watch/smartwatch. Like i said. Tested Peak 9 it was cool but show wrong stationary bike calories burn and heart rate (I used on cycling mode/ indoor mode/ mountain mode) all show wrong. Also UI was VERY laggy/sluggish. I watched some videos with PRO and seems much better, Acceptable! But iam worried that some people saying it show wrong steps count (You could move Your hands and it adds many steps) and wrong heart rate = more calories burn that I should. Iam aware of that. Mostly i care about stationary bike and good showing calories burn but dont know what sport mode choose becouse i dont see anything like that. I had cheap Xiaomi band and it had this mode also show good calories burn and heart rate I guess. Except that Peak 9 Pro seems perfect for me. I have ordered one, should arrive tommorow or in 2 days. I will test it and let know if its gonna stay with me or not -
@Tami999
calories burnt depends on the watch’s settings.
it actually doesn’t measure calories burnt, it’s an estimation, same with other values that can be derived by HR, height, weight, pace, acceleration etc…I really can’t judge on the step counter as I don’t count steps. I use it as an activity reference… less “steps”, less movement.
the S9PP is a great choice, you’ll like it
but bear in mind, it’s a sports watch, not a smart watch -
Yes i know its not smart watch That’s why Iam not looking for gadget with amoled, 1-3 day battery all plastic. I looking for good solid watch, with long-time battery that count my progress good. Calories, distance and all things. Right now i try to reduce my weight and its important for me to make it precise.
