Missing power and cadence
-
I just upgraded to S9PP, mostly I wanted to test running training with power from wrist.
I customised a Run sport mode to include a Power 3s field, and it displayed no value throughout the entire run. No data about power in SA or intervals.icu either Also cadence is missing from the watch face during activity and from the apps, while I get it when I do Walk instead.
Am I doing something wrong with the sport mode? -
@Francesco-Pagano That is bizarre! I use custom sport modes with power and they work. Your sport mode could be corrupted. Try 1. Short test with Standard power spor mode to make sure power is working.
2. If yes recreate the sport mode and do a short test. Finally, have you set your power zones in
Settings/Training/Intensity Zones/Advanced Zones? If nothing is set the power might be in no zone and possibly not show properly but I wouldn’t know why -

Just in case, are you sure it’s a suunto 9 peak pro?
Because we saw once, even Suunto’s tester cannot figure out which model has wrist power.

@Brad_Olwin thanks, I’ll try setting up power zones and test the same sport mode again. I understand from your message and all documentation around that I should see some standard (non-custom) running and cycling with power sport modes, but I can’t see these on the watch nor on SA

@Brad_Olwin creating a new custom sport mode worked, I got both power and cadence. What I didn’t get was the “power” display instead, which was not there on the previous sport mode, either.
There seeems to be an issue with sport modes because this is maybe the third one that doesn’t reflect what I set up on SA (I’m on beta 4.73.6 - Android) -
I did some research on the forum and the issue seems similar to what reported here:
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/3556/running-power-missing-on-s9-baro-with-2-9-42/20
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/6581/no-hr-displayed-in-custom-run-with-power-modeIn my case, some fields (power and cadence) and some displays (power, power without distance) are empty/missing during the activity.
However my starting point is customising Running; I don’t understand how you customise Run with power because I don’t see this as a sport mode.Suunto 9 Peak Pro - Software 2.27.8

Do you mean that you don’t see Running in the list when you click “create sport mode” ?
-
@sartoric I do see Running. Am I supposed to see also something like Running power? That’s what I understand from @Brad_Olwin 's message “Standard power spor mode” and from Suunto’s article:
https://www.suunto.com/sports/News-Articles-container-page/run-with-power/
“To see your power during your run, select a sport mode that shows running power on your screen. You can use for example sport modes like Trail running power or Running power.” -
@Francesco-Pagano no, running with power is a specialization (i.e. a custom mode from Suunto) so you cannot customize it further. The basic mode is running. I use a custom running mode (although on Vertical, not S9P) and see my current power on the guide I am using.

@Francesco-Pagano
Here are photos from vertical, but I checked also the same from S9PP of my wife.
Running standard sport mode
And then you can choose option for power
Don’t you have these?
-
@Mff73 thanks! I would probably never find these
There’s still some issue to discover with custom sport modes, for which I’ll provide more details. For now I have what I needed. -
