Does 9 peak measures HRV?
-
@freeheeler I believe that Resources are calculated based on the HRV. That is also the reason why HR sensor uses constant light during daily HR measurement which is needed for HRV (in contrast to flashing during excercise mode or manually triggered HR measurement).
I think that the exhaustive answer is: yes, it measures HRV. But it does not show or log the direct value to the user.

@inkognito Sleep quality is based on HRV readings.

@Ilya-Sul is this fact? Is this fact from SUUNTO? Or do you believe that it is so!? Suunto says on a question from me that suunto not measure the HRV because it is medical data. And suunto shows no medical data 🫣i dont know what i should believe!?

@inkognito hrv or not… Resource widget is useless because it doesn’t work at all, at least for me… unfortunately no comparison to Garmin. I’ve hidden the widget because it’s just annoying… My parameters are set correctly, after waking up I never get over 60% and if you do a few sit-ups right away, the resources drop drastically and don’t build up anymore… No idea if suunto has problems with FirstBeat (Garmin)? but I don’t see any development here…

@Sascha-Domres same Problem on my watch!!! Community says few updates will come with new Ressourcen and Recovery monitor or measurement. But how it actually works it is a very bad thing 🤮 sorry but so long time until several problems are solved… Seems that suunto put new hardware with untested old software on the market. You never forget this is a Suunto Forum, noone from the testers will say that there are some Problems… Cause they test for Suunto but we who buy this watches are beta testers 🫣 you know it later in time… But i think if i pay much money on a suunto watch i will get comfortable and exact datas from myself. And not feel like a beta Software tester and handle reboots and watch Crashes…

@Sascha-Domres same problems in S9P AND S9PP AND VERTICAL

@GiPFELKiND https://www.suunto.com/en-nl/Support/Product-support/suunto_9_peak/suunto_9_peak/features/sleep-tracking/
From the above manual… (why don’t people read them?)
Sleep quality
In addition to duration, your watch can also assess sleep quality by following your heart rate variability during sleep. The variation is an indication of how well your sleep is helping you rest and recover. Sleep quality is shown on scale from 0 to 100 in the sleep summary, with 100 being the best quality.
So yes it is measured, but the raw HRV data isn’t shown anywhere (which is a disappointment).

@twekkel why Suunto Support says that Suunto do not measure the HRV? cool

@GiPFELKiND I can understand your point of view and I don’t want to say that Garmin or coros are without errors. Otherwise I wouldn’t have bought a Vertical. But I also think that at least marketing and transparency at Suunto must improve. coros always delivers innovations at very short intervals and communicates skilfully. Suunto does great surveys within the app, but you get the impression that nothing is happening. there was a hotfix since the release otherwise silence. Users are looking for advice, e.g. in this forum… if Suunto doesn’t come with improvements and innovations soon, they are wasting the great potential of the Vertical… I still like the watch… but they also have to deliver, especially in this price segment.

@GiPFELKiND As stated above, it says so in the manual. There’s very little info about it, though.

@Sascha-Domres I also have this problem. I’ve never seen it go higher than 60%. Would rather it was removed entirely as it’s meaningless
