Ressources in Vertical /how does it works?

@wmichi oh, that explains a lot then… Thanks for the info… Wasn’t Firstbeat bought by Garmin
-
@SuperFlo75 thanks for that. Yes I find that confusing

@SuperFlo75 ok, really? Suunto says so? really the minimum heart rate? Interesting… then I would have actually set the watch correctly…
You can read it here…
https://www.suunto.com/de-de/Support/Produktsupport/suunto_vertical/suunto_vertical/widgets/ressourcen/But it is not correct in my opinion…
in the page, it mentioned very clearly : Rest HR

i asked suunto Support the vertical, the 9P the 9PP And the 9 Baro dont have HRV.
Under Sleep quality… HRV is not exposed to the users, but it is available (at least is the claim)
-
@zhang965 Yes, and the Rest HR is not the minimum HR during Night…

@zhang965 Yes, and the Rest HR is not the minimum HR during Night…
we are messed up
-
@zhang965 yes thats my Point…
-
@Sascha-Domres Oura ring also labels lowest HR during sleep as RHR ️
-
@herlas thanks…
I chatted with the support… They want me to set the minimum heart rate… confusing…
-
@zhang965 confusing…I chatted with the support… They want me to Set the minimum heart rate…

@Sascha-Domres
I’ve adjusted it based on your comment, let’s see how it behaves. normally I’ve used my avg sleep HR plus 10 as rest HR.
I now took my 7 days lowest avg sleep HR as “rest” HR -
@freeheeler okay exciting… kinda confusing. The posts of the other users also make sense to me. I chatted with Suunto… they tell me to set the minimum HR…
-
@Sascha-Domres
it used to be my rule of thumb, but it might have changed, maybe due to an updated algo? I don’t know, but will try and let you know my impression -
@freeheeler cool thank you!
-
@Sascha-Domres But wouldn’t lowering your RHR increase the amount of resources consumed by exertion, since you’d be even further away from a “resting” state?
-
@Ilya-Sul
makes sense, that’s why I’m trying now.
I’m just sitting there now, answering simple mail requests and it shows stressed… that wasn’t the case with RHR = avg sleep HR +10 -
@Ilya-Sul I tried the minimum HR at night as my Rest HR and had really low gain of ressources at night and high consumption of ressources at day without great activity…
-
@SuperFlo75
@Sascha-Domres
it’s relatively reactive when you change settings.
I’ve tried with lowest sleep HR (7 nights avg) and have the feeling it got worse. maybe you can also try and play with it to find your best setting?
I don’t know the details behind it and didn’t have contact with support, but I for one stick to my old rule of thumb:
avg sleep HR +10 = RHR -
@SuperFlo75 Yeah, the common “workaround” is to set a higher RHR than you actually have. The problem is that that probably affects various other metrics.
-
@freeheeler the support said that it takes a long time for the watch to ‘learn’… it’s important to wear the watch 24/7 for a long time… but I don’t know more details… I’ll stick with the HR minimum AVG settings for now. .
