@slash isn’t the Spartan 2.5 years now ?
Put as well the 1 year beta/alpha that we had …
Btw the China watch remkvinds me of Garmin not suunto. -
@slash if you really think this is a copy from the China version I am really done here. Someone should buy me laser surgery because wtf.
Fyi what that China watch is copy paste is from ghostracer Android. Google it or should I paste here images ?
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos amazfit as well over two years. But comparing suunto companion app and amazfit China guys made huge improvements during that two years journey and their app is really good
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos
Oh oui…
More pics, more info…Waiting waiting waiting
-
@slash dude I dont care. I wont go comparing.
This is 4 years old almost, the app is AW and about 6 years old.
Fully customizable like on the Spartan. Actaully more, since you can set font size columns and rows.
-
@slash btw Suunto is not Huwei . I am really getting tired here about this whataboutism debates.
Hey what about the polar app? It had intervals before Huawei
My 2 cents here.
The whole app/system of Amazfit it’s nothing spectacular. It’s AW not a custom operating system. Suunto provides all the HW->SW layers from Assembly to UI.
It’s kinda different to build an app on a OS and kinda different to build an OS.
I really think you are mixing concerns here
-
@mi_chael here you go
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos it is not AW mate Proprietary OS as well.
-
@slash search again
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos
Nice.Hope it’s beta and not alpha.
Perhaps coming next week… -
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos https://m.gsmarena.com/the_huami_amazfit_2_is_xiaomis_latest_smartwatch_offer-news-28700.php
“Right off the bat, this means no Android Wear or any other popular watch OS. Instead, Amazfit has its own Watch 2.0 platform.”
-
@slash that is 2017 ! Are we going to go though the whole gamma of watches released? Didn’t you talk about 2016?
-
@slash btw as I see it’s based on Adroid and there are roms out there no?
-
@slash it even has support for adb if I am not mistaken.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos my point is here that they did impressive step forward in such short time from the company which has a lot limited know how in sport watches and I look at this as good thing, if such companies will deliver devices and applications in par with top brands we as customers are going to win as other companies will need to invest more in their development to be on top
-
@slash that is a good and valid point.
Just perhaps to add some history here, when the ambit was out, the AW had 2 very good watches that did “miracles” alread. You had even strava and the Spectacular Ghostracer app to use. I helped develop this app. We tried to add our own GPS error filters etc.
First GPS AW watch that worked well was Sony, then Moto 360.
I loved that. I did code a watchface for that, opensource https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dimitrioskanellopoulos.athletica.pro&hl=en it still gets downloaded and has a rating of 4.0
My moto 360 sport died from Greece’s heat. (after 3 repairs)
My Sony died in the shower. (after 2 DOA)
My Nixon Mission (the best so far) was too low on battery and had awesome sensors. (After 1-2 hours dead) they never fixed the bugs.All these are first steps from companies to sell…
IMHO Suunto is a slow growing/walking Giant that will deliver eventually. IF not it will die. It’s so simple. Its not any other company on AW that just does the best it can from it’s latest watch creation.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos great! I don’t care about other manufactures. What’s important is that Suunto is making progress and create one consistent software platform.
-
@slash I checked into the Amazefit, and asked if they could pair external sensors besides the heart rate. The answer? NO, nothing will be available, so your bike sensors, nope, $200 Stryd running sensor, nope, nothing, just heart rate.
It’s pretty, and it’s also pretty basic. -
@oeagleo price is pretty as well, it is more like s3f
