Galileo support question
-
‘Record with app’ feature in smartphones that support Galileo GNSS like P10 or Aquaris X5 plus (android) or iOS phone models that support (8 and 10) will registry route, pace, distance with this gps system or just GPS and GLONASS?
-
@luís-pinto from my understanding at least on Android there a location service and the developer has no preference on systems.
That said I might be wrong. -
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos anyone with these iOS models can test please?
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos if yes, this is a real upgrade compared with any Suunto watch bring by this app.
-
@luís-pinto can you imagine a fused location setting on the watch, so then when paired with the app, they could share gps data and get a better estimate? Now add Galileo support to that.

Newest OnePlus 5 (Android) with support for GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos yes, it’s my understanding also! The app should get the Multi-GNSS available on smartphone (GPS chipset) that all together give a coordinate Lat, Long and Alt, crossing 3 or 4 systems at once. It will be very nice making a test. One phone with GPS+GLONASS and another with 3 systems. Same App (Suunto App), same route, same workout and see the results. Anyone with possibility to do this test? Maybe one person with a iPhone SE and 8 can be kind and make this test!
-
@luís-pinto Unfortunately I don’t have any of these phones.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Thanks a lot Dimitrios!
