Open water swimming

My suunto 7 it is totally useless in open water swimming I tested it with friends with other gps watch and meters measured by my S7 are always wrong , usually too much than realty but even more important it is S7 lost often GPS signal and trace it is completely wrong …it seem i swim on an island , that it is funny but not right for such a important swatch and brand

what swim style did you practice?
my wife’s S7 does perfectly well with crawling -

@Grillo54 I used mine open water swimming down the beach but mostly butterfly stoke. I think I also did front crawl and it worked fine gathering GPS date. Try hard reset your watch.

I tried it and the result was 0 meters in both occasions. -
I remember you can set S7 to record every 10s… not sure if this applies to OWS, too. if this is possible and the setting is 10s, I imagine that the watch will struggle to record reasonably.

My S9P and my wife´s S7 usually differ +/- 40m in OW swims , her GPS tracks look generally OK
