Unwanted stopping of recording during running exercise
During running exercise with enabled route navigation I changed battery mode from custom (with display timeout) to performance and since then the recording had stopped unwanted in background. In navigation screen my actual position moved on correctly and in activity screen my current speed was also correct, but distance and elapsed time curiously did not change. At first I thought it was only a display error and I tried to change the battery mode again, but with no effect. As I stopped the exercise I had the hope that my missing kilometers and time would appear, but it was not so. In SA I saw that that the recording stopped immediately as I had changed the battery mode in options menu during exercise.
did you send logs to Suunto?
and if you try to replicate, does it happen again?
@freeheeler No, I didn’t. On that day I saved also some other exercises and synced in the evening. I never sent any logs before to suunto. If I “send logs to suunto” I have no choice that to send and get no response.
What does this option really do, is it only for last activity or all activities of the last syncing?
I tried to replicate but could not reproduce.
In the last year in september I had a similar issue with stand up paddling. I waited for GPS signal and started the default SUP exercise and was looking on the activity display for current speed and I thought everything was OK, but as I wanted to know the distance and stopped time I was surprised that they were both always at zero. Then I stopped, saved and started a new exercise again and the problem did not happen again for me.
logs help Suunto developers to dig into data trying to find the root cause and eliminate potential bugs… it doesn’t help you directly.
soon after sending logs you need to let Suunto close people know the time when you’ve sent the logs and from what mail address (connected account).
I’ve also had very strange things happening with my watch. Fortunately not repeatedly. let’s hope your observation was a one time issue
