@dmytro I think because “pinning” them forces the watch to never delete them if new workouts are available, and given the little amount of memory current watches have it may result in users not being able to get new workouts on their watches because they abuse the pin function.
-
@brad_olwin I just checked - my fourth workout and a couple more are all in the watch. I was just wondering if they will stay there or disappear after some time, considering I don’t add new workouts.

@dmytro said in Suunto Guides:
@isazi oh, so these workouts won’t disappear until I add more? How come I can’t pin them then? E.g. if I can load up to 10 workouts on the watch, why can’t I also pin these 10?
Why do you need to pin them??? When you pin a workout it is in the watch permanently until you unpin. It is much easier to simply duplicate them in intervals.icu for the days you want them duplicated. Once the date has passed for the workout, it will be removed whether or not you use it.

If the workouts have no date they will not disappear from the watch until you add more. If they have a date, they may disappear.
-
@isazi okay I see, I think one may want to clarify this in the guides menu.
Like don’t restrict pinning to only 3 workouts, but of say, all the place is taken, display a warning that new workouts aren’t syncing anymore. -
@dmytro I think many users do not understand what pinning a workout is. I agree that this could be made clearer.
-
@dmytro You were double teamed today:). Hope we helped.
-
@isazi do you mind explaining how one can create a workout on intervals.icu without a date. Until now I’ve been adding them to my training plan, which is with dates only.
-
@brad_olwin yep, thank you both!
-
@dmytro not sure, I have never used intervals.icu, but from the guides documentation I know of this behavior: if a workout has a date assigned to it, it may be deleted after that date, while if a workout has no date assigned it is kept indefinitely in SA (in SA you can have a longer list of workouts than what you have available on the watch).
-
@isazi okay thanks, I’ll try and search for the ways I can remove the date from my workouts.
But if not every service has this possibility, maybe it would make sense to add a toggle ‘pin to app’? -
@dmytro As I said before, just duplicate the workouts in the service for the days you want them. No need to pin. I do this all the time in TrainingPeaks, it is very easy and then you have the workouts scheduled for the days you want them.
-
@brad_olwin true, but as I already mentioned, I don’t really have a fixed schedule. I might want to do a specific one today and another one in 10 days or so. It’s just whatever I feel like doing XD
For the moment I found a loophole though: 3 intervals.icu workouts can be pinned at once and the fourth workout is the running drills which stays in the watch anyways. So I’m happy.
