Suunto app is now available for Apple silicon M1 Macs from App Store
-
I have mac OS 12.4 with an 6-Core Intel Core i7, and the app store for the Sunnto App notes this is not compatible. What are the solutions to installing the app on this MacBook Pro? many thanks
-
@adders73 none unfortunate. It’s for apple M1 only (and possibly M2 as well?)
-
@thanasis thanks for the quick response. I am stunned that an app for general use (Sunnto users) can be designed to be so restrictive. My MBP is 2019. I guess there are no plans to resolve this ?
-
@adders73 I think the case is that Mac with Apple Silicon can run iOS apps and not that Suunto designed an app specifically for Macs and restricted it.

Correct. That was explained some post ago…not to mention the title

And in fact the same is valid for Android and Windows 11

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Guess it works also on M2 MacBook Air? Is it possible to build a rout in SA on MB Air M2?
-
@mountainChris I guess it should work, if you see it i. The app store then it works. And yes you can create routes.

Hi everyone
Sorry if I posted a comment here, but I did download the app suunto from appstore on my MacBook Air M2, but it appears that it doesn’t find my Suuntoo 5, I mean when I open the app on the Macbook I don’t see any watch icone on the app
The bluetooth is onDo you have any idea ?
Thank for your answer -
@B-Rom your watch can be paired only to one device.
-
@B-Rom the app does not use BT on osx
-
@DMytro
hii I have no other device paired with -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
oh okay, so how can I pair the Suunto with mac os ? -
@B-Rom I see. Ok, I also didn’t know that mac doesn’t use bt, so apparently you can’t connect direclty to pc. Only view already synced data.
-
@B-Rom you cannot. You can keep the watch paired with the phone and see from your computer your data.

How would I Link an Ambit 2 to a phone or iPad? The Ambit2 doesn’t have bluetooth.
According to Suunto I have to link the Ambit 2 to my commuter via the charging cable, the same way I did it with MovesCount.
Except I have a 2019 MacBook Pro that runs on Intel not the Apple chip.
Is there ANY solution beside buying either a new watch or a new laptop??
-
@Larry-Salvatore you need to use Suuntolink and Suunto App.
