[Issue] FW rolled back to 2.18.18 and won't find the new FW anymore
-
I manually installed mine successfully yesterday (IOS).
Production Version of App (not beta)
App downloaded update >
Checked watch settings > General > Software Update >
Installed Update > 10 mins later > 2.19.42 installed -
@tonyg Yes. I’ve successfully upgraded to 2.19.42 as well. It just… rolls back to 2.18.18 after that.
That’s the issue. -
@hankwang Mine hasn’t rolled back (fingers crossed as yet) will keep an eye on it though)
-
In Spain, exactly the same. Magic hasn’t come tonight. Any known solution?
-
@booxer Nope. Still waiting on some moderators whom might have closer contact to Suunto to bring in the magic.
-
So what I heard is that Suunto knows about the users with this issue, less than 200 users all with iOS, and will bring a solution soon. I guess you’ll soon get a new firmware to update to.
-
@isazi Thanks man. Feeling lucky to be a part of the 200 club xD
-
@isazi Ok, we‘ll see when we also get the update
-
Same thing here, latest IOS, I updated manually then at some point a rollback happened. Now the app on the phone says that the updated loaded to the watch. On the watch the software update is grayed out so you can’t even open it.
-
Magic didn’t happen for me. I left it charging until the morning. Same 2.18.18 is still here with no option to update.
-
@nikita_gx Suunto should solve that, I guess beginning of the coming week.
-
What‘s frustrating is that no official announcement from Suunto. A significant number of users, probably all IOS users are excluded from new enhancements. Technical issues could occur, but one should communicate and not leaving people in the dark. Should IOS user expect limited support for Suunto watches? If so, say so and they could choose another brand.
-
@hexa62 This is the first time an update is not working as expected and this update has been released less than 48 hours ago… i agree Suunto should at least release an update in the ios app as a news release but to start speculating about limited support based on the os of your phone is a bit far fetched…
-
@dominick agreed, it‘s a bit provocative. But frankly, notes about problems installing the update appear already on Friday. I don‘t expect solutions in a snippet, but an announcement naming the problem with an expected time of solution I do expect.
-
@isazi I wonder, what leads to be member of the 200. HW thing? My girlfriend has a new 9 peak, not 2 weeks old and we think about sending it back and ordering a new one…
-
Hi all, same problem here, S9P watch has rolled back by itself to 2.18.18 the day after the update to 2.18.42.
Waiting for a fix now -
@hexa62 they bedt can do a push notification in ios yes
-
@mountainchris I have no idea, maybe the first ones to update? There should be nothing wrong with the watches, it was a glitch with the iOS app for what I know that affected less than 200 users in total.
I agree Suunto should have sent an official communication, but I believe they will solve everything when everyone is back at the office the coming week.
-
@isazi does it only affect 9Peak users? Went well here over cable on the S5
-
@chrisa yes, only S9P.
