SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.19.42 January 27, 2022
-
@richard-thygesen yes haha, altitude floats a little. But I think it’s fine as long as totals are correct. And don’t forget, hill’s about 10m - just a jokingly small altitude difference. Should be much better for 100m hills. But I’ll test those after my exams are over.
-
@dmytro Good afternoon! Are you saying the Suunto 9 has improved its altitude readings after the last update? If so, that’s really good news because my Suunto 9 has been terrible in this regard. It has always under reported my climbs. If there’s improvements I’ll definitely give it a try.
-
@tyresej4 yup, both s9b and regular S9 have been improved by a recent update. As you can see in my case, even a 10m hill is more or less digestible now, I think a 100m one should be just perfect.
-
We did a small hike today in one of the very few places where we have “hills” in The Netherlands.
It was a round trip. Start and end altitude ended up being the same. Algorithm looks pretty accurate to me.
-
@surfboomerang the S9P has the new algorithm since September already.
-
@isazi That reveals how often I spend time in the hills then if I noticed it just now
-
@surfboomerang
…well… it’s not like you would avoid hills on purpose -
I was at 3% of resources left at 10 pm, then did 34 mins of yoga and magically recharged resources to 52 after the yoga, sounds like a bug? Is this a known issue ?
-
@herlas it sounds like you did your Yoga Session really well .
-
@dmytro - Can you confirm this rumor. Since the shut down of MC, I have been all at sea. Complex training routines have to be mapped out on the road and written on a piece of paper and it is a pain, and slightly embarrassing losing ground to Garmin and Coros.
-
@schalk-liebenberg no need to carry a piece of paper - you can also write them on your hand
I think no one here will confirm this rumor - it won’t be a rumor anymore then -
@egika True that, but still a pain not having it in the watch, I loved my Ambit 3S with MC it was perfect, especially for the complex routines. I now have the 9Baro and it does not compete. I missed it in my pre-buying research that it does not have the functionality. I assumed that it was there because it was there before…
-
Maybe a bug in the new software:
If a call comes in, the vibration ends after a short time. Before it takes as long as the call comes in.
-
@schalk-liebenberg I can not confirm anything as I’m not related to Suunto in any way except that I own a S9B but there has been some hints here, one very clear, pointing that in March we will have structured workouts. Besides, some product review web-pages, have also said that we will have them in early 2022.
What is not clear is how we will have them, through third party, Mobile app, etc…My guess is that will be something related to S+ because with the last update we can remove them to have more memory and according to some reviewers this will be needed for what will come.
-
@cosme-costa what do you mean by reviewers, has anybody written a review on the recent update for suuntos?
-
@dmytro Well, not really a review in the recent software, but its explanation like Joaquin’s videos pointing out that we will need the extra memory space or a review like this where points that in 2022 we will have structured intervals (review of the S9P in Spanish).
As I said before all of this is my guessing but If you check some posts someone related to Suunto also confirms that we will have SI with March update
-
-
@cosme-costa Thanks you for the valuable info.
-
I have experienced a bug where after turning off several S+ options and then choosing one for an activity my breadcrumb screen was locked to be a minimum of 500km radius. it would zoom out to 1000km but not closer than 500km, making it useless.

@egika
@freeheeler sure thing
