Suunto 9 heart rate sensor
-
I have a suunto 9 and a Suunto 9 peak, and from the last update done on both watches, i’ve noted that the hear rate sensor doesn’t work properly especially the daily tracking. It’s completely wrong. When i start to move for a walk my bpm is every time between 90 and 100 when it should be 60/65 and when i’m rest the watch report sometimes 85/80 bpm when my heart rate is 60
or less. Only when i keep the arm completely still the results are nearly correct. It’s my impression and i’m the only one who have this issue? I thought was a problem of the watch but from the moment that i have two different watches with the same problem i think is really strange.
Thanks a lot

@lucadag92 Did you manage to solve this? I seem to be having the same issues.
Thank you!

@lucadag92 @Willem-Vancutsem I wonder if you both have hardware issues. I do not wear the 9baro much but wear the 9Peak all the time and have not seen this issue at all. Have both of you done a soft reset?

@brad_olwin Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I have tried a soft reset, with no luck. I have the impression that it always takes more or less 15 seconds or so for the watch to reach the correct HR when I do an instant reading. So my guess is that, in 24/7, it settles too early, which results in a HR that is too high.
Could that be the case?

@willem-vancutsem I do not think so, my HR tracking for several Suunto watches and a Garmin are typically nearly identical. However, the 9baro OHR during exercise never worked well for me, for daily HR it is fine. The watches sample HR about every 10 min when not exercising. Can you post some images of the issues you are having? Second, if you wear the watch further up on your arm does that change the HR readings? Or switch hands?

@brad_olwin Thank you! I don’t really have good pictures, but I will try to add some. I just have the impression that the readings in 24/7 are always higher than what they are in reality. I’ll also try wearing the watch even higher up. Keep you posted!
