Ambit 3 Peak: purchase suggestion
-
I would say no, the watch is good, application is really bad
-
I would say yes, if you have a basic use of the watch (no Suunto apps) and if you always have access to a laptop to sync routes, settings, … since we still cannot do that through SA.
Otherwise I would say no.

for basic use I would spend 15-50$ and would get better watch (like casio etc) …this watch was >350eur and I expect that I get what I pay…SA is bullsh… and it was from beginning

According to you
-
Yes and I repeat that again, (or you can prof it worked without any bug for any watch beside of ambit 3)… and according to all ppl which have opened any post here having problems, so please do not ignore this.
Sad that you having time to work on “commercial issues and comments” but not on SA issues…I have opened two other posts maybe you and devs are also so fast and taking care about bugs and get the sh… fixed
-
@jasmin-klipic I’ve owned a A1 and it’s been a great watch. I considered the A3P a valid choice for my needs… and now I’ve tried SL4… well, I’m really satified because I can do everything I did with the A1. Ok some hiccups but they will be fixed soon I guess. Using both SA and SL4 is not a problem at all.
As said the purchase has been a big deal! -

I do not have an Ambit, SA works very well for the S series.

no they will not…some of issues are not new, and looking to the past of dev history, devs either do not care of A3P or they do not have enough man power. I have 3 of A3P and despite of that that I love this watch, you can trust me…applications was never OK…my current issue is that after some time not using watch (wearing) day or two…SA is not able to connect any more to the watch…just reinstall helps…how cool is that

well not sure what gives you a right to comment…based on WHAT, I have 3 of them…and as IT guy I have not just opinion as user but also as professional, and experience since > 5 Y

What?
I see you are moderator…I have opened 3 posts about issues with SA SL4 …so far no reaction/replay on them…but when I say… SA is garbage then I got within a minute some response .WHAT? -

I have the right to do whatever I want, mr IT guy. Or do you want me to ask you permission mr IT guy?
Or do you want to see my CV? It’s online
You said “SA is bullsh… and it was from beginning”, it is a general statement, unless you meant that in your opinion “SA is bullsh… and it was from beginning” and other people can enjoy it, and use it, and maybe even like it.I see you are moderator…I have opened 3 posts about issues with SA SL4 …so far no reaction/replay on them…but when I say… SA is garbage then I got within a minute some response .WHAT?
As a moderator I keep track of spamming, that’s it. For the rest, I can comment on what I want as everyone else. I do not comment on your other posts because I do not have an Ambit so cannot help you.

the only problem with SL4 I’ve had so far is an issue when synchronizing planned routes that are not removed from the watch if they’re disabled from SA. With the A1 I have never had a problem in all these years using MC
-
@g-q maybe @pavel.samokha can report this thing for you.
-
@isazi @G-Q thanks, @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos already reported that to devs, they’ll take a look
-
@isazi thanks, the issue has been already reported in the SL4 thread
-
@jasmin-klipic Then you should know that devs do not play any role in what gets fixed/done and when

NO, but not having a A3P your statements are absolutely unqualified and not relevant
Or do you want to see my CV? It’s online
NO, I don’t have any interest in you

For me, and for sure any A3P owner…and that’s not what we deserve after paying so much for this overpriced product

After one month of intensive use I am quite satisfied with the choice I made and I would also like to add that the A3P is second to none in the field ;-P. Even the new HRM chest strap is really good and I love the memory function feature. I forgot to mention that SA and SL4 work very well!

Wonderful to hear, I still have an A3P sitting on my shelf that occasionally gets used for testing…I am addicted to my S9Peak:)
-
@brad_olwin your A3P deserves better usage :). The simplicity and power of this watch make me enjoy every single time I wear it.

As I stated, I prefer the 9Peak. I can list the reasons, there are many but a couple of the most important
- Distance to waypoint and end of route is as drawn, on A3P the distance is direct as a bird flies, not as drawn.
- HR zone info on a ring so no need for HR data.
- FusedTrack: with long battery life (1 min to 2 min GPS fix) my tracks are virtually indistinguishable from 1 sec fix. Not so with A3P.
